This bill eliminates daylight savings time which has not served a particularly significant purpose in Atlasia. The most important consequence of this bill will be having all elections start at midnight est which will eliminate past confusion with voters causing some to vote early.

I only see benefits with this bill. It allows all citizens to understand a the time of voting regardless of time zone, and it eliminates one of the most pointless traditions dragged into the modern day.

I love the concept behind this bill, and I wish America would do the same. However, herein lies my main concern with it. America (and other countries that use DST) will still use DST, so Atlasia will be an hour behind America for half of the year, potentially confusing more citizens.

We effectively already are an hour behind, as in the only instance this would have a practical effect on the game — elections — Atlasia operates as if DST did not exist (i.e. from March through October, elections begin and end at 1:00 AM, aka 12:00 AM EST). This is because Atlasian elections are run on the default forum clock, which does not adjust for DST.

As someone who has had many lively debates on this topic, I encourage Congress to take a look at this article.

It mostly serves to annoy and inconvenience people plus as Truman points out it actually confuses a bunch of people because elections start at different times depending on the time of year.

As someone who nearly got disenfranchised one of the few times that DST was used for an election, I support this bill.

I like this idea of putting Atlasia on a more logical time in order to make it less confusing for people to vote, but I am concerned about voters not becoming aware of this law and assuming that the times listed in the voting booth reflect DST rather than normal time.

We just make the change clear in the voting booth. Anyway some voters think it’s that time anyway and when the voting booth opens their clock on the computer would be midnight so their is less potential for confusion. Also by the fall most voters would have gotten used to the change.

Guys, this wouldn't be a change: this is the system we already use. All this bill would do is eliminate the distinction between EST (the clock used for elections) and EDT (which would cease to be a thing). Any confusion about the difference between EST/EDT already exists under the current laws.

I’ll also comment that this would benefit the MADA bill if it’s passed so candidates would be able to debate at the same set time.
