Nice! So I guess the two halves that made up my DNA enjoyed relatively stable lives outside the CRA. That's at least a bit refreshing

Yeah they're probably alive and not under a white supremacist theocracy, so that's definitely good.

Office of President Suza Cameron

The Mission of the New Union

November 1, 2019

1. Destroy the Christian Republic.

2. Secure the new United States' future and stamp out fascist,
white supremacist, and theocratic remnants.

3. Restore human rights, civilized national integrity, federalism, and mutual unity throughout the land.

4. Ensure political, social, and economic equality for every citizen and resident of the United States.

5. Create a mixed economy that is not susceptible to the worst aspects of greed and capitalism.

6. Disintegrate the inhumane discrimination against skin color, sex, gender identity and sexual orientation, religion, national origin, political expression, free press, organized labor, and personal livelihood.

7. Create a modernized and inclusive Bill of Rights, and a stronger Constitution to safeguard against extremism.

8. Ensure regular, fair, and safe elections, beginning in 2022. Utilize modern voting policy that encourages multi-party democracy where all voices are heard. Utilize run offs to ensure consensus and legitimacy.

9. Seek justice for all Christian Republic officials guilty of crimes against humanity. Punish those guilty to send a message to CRA sympathizers that the United States does not tolerate genocide, ethnic cleansing, war crimes, apartheid states, or caste states.

10. Create a nation that is ever vigilant, never complacent, and a nation which loves people of all walks of life and rejects politics of hate, genocide, segregation, and intolerance.

"When we saw the horrors of the Holocaust in 1945, we said to ourselves, 'Never Again!'. But when we saw our Nation collapse before our eyes, as the men we thought we defeated in World War II take control of America and impose their Neo-Naziism, Nativism, and Fascism on our country, we realized very quickly that we failed our goal of 'Never Again'. Well folks, as long as I'm alive, we won't fail again!" Cameron shouted, putting both clenched fists into the air.

Damn, I got chills. Amazing.
Also, what's happening with Israel and Russia ITTL? Did the Soviets fall naturally (and the iron curtain with them), earlier or later? What about Israel, did it manage to survive on its own (I'm almost certain it could- we'd just find other allies, like Brazil), and is it more left-wing in this universe considering the CRA's existence probably causing seething hate against it and constantly reminding of the dangers of right-wing extremism?
Also, I assume that Israel, if existing. also declared war on the CRA. It's one of our nation's proclaimed goals to defend all Jews in the world, so I wouldn't be surprised if wer were in a constant (official) state of war with the CRA, and certain that our intelligence services were actively engaged in the efforts against it for decades.

Thanks!

Israel does exist and has found allies in Brazil, and to a lesser extent Britain, France, Germany, etc.  Palestine is still an issue as well as Arab hostility, but Israel is very much opposed to the CRA.

CRA SPLITS

- December 14, 2019. Tel Aviv.

The CRA has effectively split into two hostile factions as negotiations between Joseph Wilton and Michael Hawthorne have collapsed. The negotiations, dubbed the Birmingham Conference, were meant to ease tensions between Wilton, Hawthorne, and their respective supporters since Wilton delivered a televised address earlier this fall declaring independence. Apparently, Wilton has not backed down from independence and has reportedly left Birmingham in the middle of the night. Hawthorne has not yet spoken on the issue.

It is likely that the United States will be splitting the CRA into two chunks if they seize full control of Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. If so, Wilton has made it clear that he will lay claim to all CRA territory west of the Mississippi. Hawthorne and his supporters have rebuffed Wilton and have made it clear that such an act will be treasonous and sinful.

President Suza Cameron has sardonically welcomed the news, stating that "Any split among them is welcomed, as it means unity is closer for us." The United States has recently celebrated a victorious siege of Toledo, which allowed the U.S. to liberate more of coastal Michigan and Ohio.

A New Post. A New Washington. A New Era.

NEW ORLEANS SEIZED BY U.S.

- February 2, 2020. Washington.

U.S. forces have successfully besieged the city of New Orleans after a four-month long protracted battle against the CRA military. The successful siege has now placed an incredibly important port city into the hands of U.S. It also has given Suza Cameron a great strategic opporunity, opening up the Gulf Coast to U.S. invasion. It has also split the CRA into Hawthorne-backed and Wiltonite factions, making a CRA civil war very likely. With civil war on the horizon, the U.S.  holding New Orleans is more important than ever.

This is a developing story.

Civil War within the CRA intensifies

March 15, 2020 -

The Civil War rankling the Christian Republic of America seems to get more violent, devastating, and complex by the day.

Michael Hawthorne continues to rule as President of much of the southeast of America, now referred to as Dixie. Joseph Wilton, since peace talks broke down in December, commands territory chiefly composed of the Plains states. Both Hwathornite and Wiltonite loyal states are bisected by the US-controlled Mississippi River. Reports suggest that neither Hawthorne nor Wilton are in control of much of the areas beyond their capitals.

Several splinter states have broken off from Wilton's CRA. In Hawthorne-controlled Dixie, the cities of Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Atlanta, Charleston, and Charlotte have broken off and formed hostile communes that have pledged allegiance to the US.

The primary battlegrounds are in the Lower Mississippi valley, where Hawthornite, Wiltonite, and Ozark Christians fight for control of the area. Other battle-heavy areas are eastern Tennessee, western Virginia, and parts of North Carolina, where fighters from US-allied Appalachia, Hawthornites, and US forces fight to control the rest of Virginia.

Mexican Army consolidates control in Baja Peninsula,
uncovers evidence of mass shootings, executions, and genocide.

January 29, 2020 -

As Mexico pushes back the final remnants of the CRA skeleton army stationed in Tijuana, the full gravity of their rule on the peninsula has been uncovered. Mexican soldiers have, over the course of many months, uncovered what are now believed to be concentration camps, execution centers, and as many feared, death camps akin to those found in the Holocaust.

First reported in the summer of 2019, these camps were initially believed to be labor camps, or detention centers for CRA prisoners, but the discovery of underground chambers and firing areas have confirmed the world's worst fears. In Tijuana, which was liberated last month after a period of protracted urban warfare, Mexican soldiers have uncovered very recent evidence of gas executions and firing squads, deducing that the CRA stationed in the city had conducted the genocide in the last ninety days. Piles of bodies were discovered and have since been cleaned and prepared for burial.

Current estimates report that at least 90,000 have been killed since December of 2019.

This is a developing story.

Temporary Headquarters of the United States Intelligence Department - Secaucus, NJ - February 19, 2020

"No. Pinch me and tell me that didn't just f**king happen." Melinda Wallace said, watching the satellite video feed recorded by a drone way in the sky. The video was showing a desolate parking lot, somewhere in Athens, Georgia. Three men, clad in black and armored with rifles, stood over a casually-dressed man lying flat on the pavement, a deep red pool of blood pooling under him.

The control room was stunned into silence and fear. "They killed him. They killed Bryant."

"Damn it!" Wallace shouted and threw her pen across the room. "Goddamn it!"

"We can fire at anytime, ma'am." An officer said.

"No, not now." She said. "But we need to start thinking of something here and now. Bryant was our only contact in Athens letting people know of the round-ups. People were escaping thanks to him."

"We can send in Melissa Cathcart. She can slip in via the Tennessee border and nobody would notice."

"Maybe, but how long would that take? Without Bryant, the CRA is going to start rounding people up and sending them to death camps. Now that they know we have eyes there, they're gonna start killing even more to weed out people." Wallace said, pausing to think for a few moments. "Jesus!"

Wallace then sat down and began writing things on her keyboard, typing quickly without really thinking. She was sending commands to her inferiors in the D office.

"Contact Simpson, Jones, Michaelson, and Stevenson immediately. Call them and say 'Hi, is this John Ackerton?' and hang up after they respond." Wallace typed and hit send as soon as her finger hit the enter key.

"Okay!" Wallace exclaimed and stood up. "Simpson, Jones, Michaelson, and Stevenson are on their way to their individual hideouts until we can better assess the situation and where to now proceed."

"Are they safe there? Would getting them out be a better option?" An office replied, being careful not to sound insolent.

"I don't know. But if we do get them out, we won't be able to get anyone in fast enough to warn people about the impending genocides." Wallace said, a knot of sickness developing in her throat as she let herself say genocide. It really was happening there, in America. They came so close to stopping a genocide and freeing the country, but maybe it was their invasion that finally got the CRA to begin killing. Maybe they thought that their iron rule is so threatened, that they'd rather kill their own people rather than let them thrive and survive under a loving state. Or perhaps they're afraid that the Jews, gays, Black people, and laborers will betray them and give information to spies. Wallace shuddered and sat back down.

She drafted an email to office Q. "Use drones to recircle all of the Athens area. Maybe we missed something, some sort of facility or large building. Find anything that can be used to contain large groups of people and have it sent to me within twenty-four hours. Preferably within six hours." Enter.

"We find those bastards' death camps," Wallace started, and she very much wished she could proclaim that they'd bomb them, but she knew that bombing a warehouse fulling of people would drive her to suicide. "and we will clear them out even if it means invading Georgia."

Christian Front Claims Responsibility for Princeton Attack

March 18, 2020 -

The militant terrorist sect known as the Christian Front has claimed responsibility for today's horrific bombing in Princeton, New Jersey, which has so far claimed the lives of 49.

The group is very mysterious, and not much is known about its leadership, other than the fact that it is headed by militant preacher Joshua Fallin. It is speculated that they are bankrolled by Hawthornites in the CRA.

A statement released by the Christian Front claims responsibility for the attack and reads: "We have struck the sinful United States and will not stop striking until the pretenders remove themselves from our holy lands and restore Christian government to the region. The people killed today were collaborators of the sinful regime and deserve their place in Hell alongside frauds, sodomites, adulterers, and Jews."

The statement was video footage delivered to us via encrypted email.

President Suza Cameron is scheduled to visit Princeton, NJ tomorrow morning, alongside Vice-President Harry Azar. The National Assembly is set to launch an investigation into the bombing.

Secretary of Defense Mary Cromwell spoke to reporters minutes ago, stating: "Terrorists will not cripple our reborn country, nor will they make us afraid to live our lives and thrive in a new, prosperous, and welcoming country. We will make it absolutely clear to terrorists that their violence and murder will never be forgotten, and we will punish them even if it takes ten years."

The White House - Morning of April 14, 2020

President Cameron silently signed each of the documents sprawled on her desk. Melinda Wallace looked on with a stoic, silent expression. Night-time attack on the Athens industrial district by air, three special ops teams move in simultaneously to attack the CRA headquartered at City Hall, and three more teams infiltrate suspected concentration camps on the periphery of town. Incredibly risky operation, 56% chance of failure, with some officials saying a 61% chance of failure. Compromise possible, capture possible, execution likely.

Wallace had a headache, and a dry throat. But she knew it was a necessary operation, even if it failed. They had to know what was happening in Athens, and by unlocking the gruesome secrets in that city, they had a better idea of what the regime was doing in Birmingham and Mobile. Wallace closed her eyes to take the reality in. Genocide. In America. The Land that gave troops to fight genocidaires in Germany now hosted them at the same time. In the picturesque streets of Athens, Georgia, where slaves had once been shackled and lynchings common. Where whites had partitioned blacks into apartheid hoods and kept them imprisoned in their own cities. As Wallace sat and pondered how this could have happened in America, she considered the reality that perhaps it was just the natural continuation of American history. A history of murder, slavery, segregation, and hate.

Wallace went back to that thought she had weeks ago, thinking she'd kill herself if she endangered prisoners or innocents locked up in camps. Her memories brought her back to the first pictures she'd seen of Dachau, and of Auschwitz, all of the starving people and children. She remembers sitting in her parents' cheap apartment in Ireland, just a few years after they left the refugee camp Wallace doesn't remember how she got a hold of the pictures, maybe they were torn from a history book or handed out by activists. It wasn't important how she got them, but it was important to remember how she felt then, and how she feels now. She wanted to go back in time and rescue them, but she couldn't. Her time was now, and she really did want to airlift people out of Athens, and Mobile, and Orlando, and every other imprisoned city in the South. But, it was ensnared by Hawthornites, by pathetic remnants of a white supremacist realm not unlike Hitler's. Any false move could result in the deaths of thousands of prisoners and victims of genocide, and that is something Wallace could not accept.

President Cameron Remarks to the United States - May 1, 2020

"Citizens, it is with horror and disgust that I announce that the United States has uncovered evidence of genocide in the Christian Republic occupied state of Georgia. I can confirm recent breaking reports from the Washington Post as being true.

At about 11:30 PM, April 30, a special squadron of the U.S. military has raided suspected concentration camps in Athens, Georgia and liberated thousands of imprisoned people, who we now believe would have been executed by the CRA for sham convictions of dissidence and heresy.

I implore Congress to authorize an invasion of Georgia, Florida, and the Carolinas, so we can halt the genocides and bring the leaders of the CRA to justice.

It is important that we intervene now and save hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of lives that would have otherwise been lost to genocidaires and murderers. It will bring us one step closer to achieving a permanent peace on this continent, and firmly stomping out the virus that is evil, hatred, and bigotry in America.

Thank you, citizens, and may brighter, more peaceful days be ahead of us."

FLORIDA CONQUERED BY ALLIED FORCES

July 19, 2020

Allied forces, primarily under the command of General Bill Hollings of the Commune of Free Cities, have proclaimed that Florida has been liberated.

The Florida Campaign began in May of 2018 when revolutionaries seized control of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, and Orlando. Since then, the newly re-established United States has funneled funds, arms, and manpower into the Commune.

Florida's liberation represents a massive milestone in the Allied efforts to destroy the CRA, and it is likely that the Hawthornite CRA will not last through the winter.

President Suza Cameron of the United States and President Antonio Norman of the Commune of Free Cities will speak at a joint press conference today in Richmond, Virginia.

Montgomery, Dixie - Night of July 12, 2020

Lora Mallory and her remaining family slept on firm, old mattresses that night. Along with maybe three dozen other people, mostly black and brown souls trapped in the camp barracks. Very little of the original guard remained, with most soldiers and guardsmen fleeing as the sound of jets and bombings increased by the day. The guards who remained were vicious, violent, and willfully negligent. Lora hadn't been properly fed in weeks, nor had her grandmother or sisters. She didn't know where her mother or father were, probably in separate quarters. Lora couldn't comprehend them being dead. Although she was old to conceptualize death, and she has seen murder all her life, she couldn't extend that cruel understanding to her own father, much less to her mother.

A group of black-and-gold clad guards came in, rather loudly and rambunctious too. They were drunk, and angry. Lora saw their eyes. They were bright and watery, but also emanated an aura of hate and disgust. Why were they here if they hated her and her people so much? Couldn't they just release them? Lora pored over the hopeless as she sat in her cot. She felt unbearably hot as well, the thick Southern heat closing in on her. The guards left the door open, probably on purpose, since they knew the fans have long stopped working and nobody came to repair them.

The guards began waking people up, hitting them, kicking them, spitting on them. They cursed everyone, calling them coons and the kids alligator bait. Lora's grandmother stirred awake easily, probably not truly being asleep. She was young for her role in life, only about 68. As she woke up, she motioned Lora, the youngest of the family, to slide into her bed. Lora did, and her grandmother clutched her tightly as the guards drunkenly sloshed around the beds.

"This one?" One of the guards said as he approached Lora and her grandmother.

"No, she's too old." Another said, sticking the grandmother with the end of his rifle. "Too old to enjoy her," he said, with a cruel laugh.

"Try out the niglet!" Another guard said, pointing at Lora. She began whimpering and looking at her grandmother, as the latter grabbed her tightly and shot a viperid glare at the guards. They pulled Lora away anyways, shoving the grandmother off of her bed. Lora began screaming, waking up her sisters. Prisoners never usually screamed before, seeing the pointlessness of it. But maybe it was the increasing ferocity of jets and the reality of liberation that gave Lora an energy. She screamed and kicked and spat back at the guards. They hit and kicked her back. One of them ended up bruising her legs trying to pry them open, but not before Lora's grandmother produced a hidden shank and slit his throat open.

One of them shot Lora's grandmother in the upper thigh, but she attacked him too. Soon, most of the prisoners ganged up on the remaining guards and beat them. The surviving two guards surrendered and fled the barracks.

Lora's grandmother bled badly from her leg wound.

2022 Shaping Up to be a Definitive Year in Politics

September 23, 2020

As the Revolution grows and the final vestiges of the Christian Republic are dismantled in the United States with the repeal of the ban on unmarried women holding property, attention is focusing on the 2022 election. Suza Cameron is by far the absolute favorite to win her first election since leaving exile, but other questions remain with regards to our political future.

Will we have a free-market economy, or a socialist one? Will we be somewhere in the middle, striking a welfare-capitalist tone or social democratic leftist framework?

Will parties be allowed? Many look to the extreme polarization preceding the Second Civil War as stemming from partisan violence between Rooseveltists and Segregationists. In this regard, Suza Cameron has announced that she will not help re-establish the Democratic or Republican parties, and will instead focus on forming a respectful, mutually cooperative multiparty system that is built on consensus rather than tribalism.

From that, how will we accomplish this? We certainly cannot rely on first-past-the-post voting systems, as they naturally facilitate two party systems. Multi-member districts might aid this goal, as will a system of proportional representation? Will we move towards a parliamentary country and ditch our ancien presidential regime? So many questions, yet it is important we ask them now and prepare to answer them in time for the 2022 elections.

The listed systems are very foreign to many Americans, although because we are in a Revolution and amongst a people desperate for change, it is not impossible to enact such groundbreaking change. We just saw the death of a punishing theocracy within two years, so a change from a presidential system to a parliamentary, multi-party democracy with multi-member districts is nigh out of reach.

The All-You-Need-To-Know for the 2022 Elections

December 12, 2020 -

Yesterday, President Cameron gave us a definitive timetable for the 2022 elections: May 14, 2022. Along with the announcement was the acknowledgment that it would be elections for the House, all Senatorial seats, and President simultaneously.

Cameron stated that the 2022 elections would be "utilized to better gauge the direction we want our new country to head in, as well as how we want our post-revolutionary society to be structured alongside economic, political, and social terms."

However, many liberated citizens don't know much about the candidates, nor their own leadership. As a response, the New York Times has established a new department dedicated to analyzing the 2022 elections and its participants.

Many issues are at play in the upcoming election, a very first for American people compared to the theocracy days when sham elections were piety and morality contests. Instead, the 2022 elections will likely feature debates surrounding capitalism, socialism, voting, partisanship, and social laws. We have prepared several spreadsheets analyzing the positions of many people in the government, as well as those vying for elected office and those we suspect will. Note: Not everyone listed is interested in running, such as Richard Marquez, who was stated he will remain on the ticket with Cameron in 2022.

This analysis above was compiled using possible candidates' past remarks, as well as their published platforms and remarks in office (if they are officeholders). As you can see above, there is a healthy consensus for social democracy, and a healthy consensus against communism. Socialism and Capitalism have more mixed receptions. You can notice Melinda Wallace supports neither socialism, capitalism, nor communism, but supports social democracy. This leads one to beg the questions: Isn't social democracy the result of a capitalist economy with welfarist and laborist aspects? Shouldn't someone supporting social democracy also support capitalism and socialism as social democracy is a combination of the two? Well, it's not that simple, as Wallace and many other politicians have nuanced reasons. Arthur Neville, Senator from Michigan, supports social democracy, socialism, and communism, but not capitalism, why? We have deduced, from his past positions and statements, that Neville is a solid leftists who supports socialistic and communist policies, and can support social democratic policies, but not if they rely to heavy on capitalism.

The above diagram attempts to section each of the listed possible candidates into three broad categories, then into several smaller subcategories. We have separated them into the Left, the Right, and the Collectivists, with the Collectivists being the far-left.

Among the left, we have President Cameron, Vice President Marquez, National Security Head Wallace, Defense Secretary Cromwell, and Senator Neville from Michigan. The former three belong to the social left, Cromwell to the center left, and Neville swings back to the left end of the spectrum. With this analysis, it can be said that "Cameronites" of the social left bridge the gap between center-leftists like Cromwell and hard-leftists like Neville. It is this reason that social commentators have called social leftists in the government "Bridge Leftists".

On the right, we have Special Advisor Crawford, Senator Wilkinson from New York, Senator MacLander from New Hampshire, Candidate Carnley from California, and Candidate Cornell from Ohio. They, in turn, are divided into the Social Right and Capitalist Right. Crawford, MacLander, and Carnley, members of the Social Right, are more friendly to social democracy and parliamentary government, while still being supportive of free market capitalism and mostly hostile towards socialism. On the flip side, Capitalist Rightists like Cornell and Wilkinson are more in support of presidential government with free market capitalism and little socialistic influences.

On the far left, we have Candidate Perez from Illinois, Representative Varner from New Jersey, and Candidate Corgy from Indiana. Perez belongs to Reform Socialists, while Varner and Corgy belong to Revolutionary Communists. This is because Perez is more often to support reform measures to achieve a classless society, such as social democratic economies. Varner and Corgy call for immediate abolition of capitalism in all forms as well as a full redistribution of wealth.

2022 is obviously shaping up to be a showdown between the world's three main socioeconomic ideologies, but there is still the War against the CRA, especially with the genocide that the US military is engaged in to halt. Several candidates and prominent officials have announced their positions on the war, including halting genocide and bringing in and integrating refugees.
[/font]

As you can tell from the above sheet, the left is mostly united in support of the invasion of both CRAs, save for Mary Cromwell who is reported to privately be against invading the Wiltonite-controlled CRA of the Plains and Rockies. Furthermore, Nat'l Sec. Head Melinda Wallace and Sen. Arthur Neville both support summarily executing CRA officials, with the former stating that it is an appropriate action to take for the most vile, violent, and immediately guilty of them, including those committing genocide. Others on the left don't agree with them. However, they all want to prosecute CRA leadership, a la the Nuremburg Trials.

The Right is more split on invading the Wiltonite CRA, as well as refugee integration, with the further right among them striking a very isolationist stance. Cornell, interestingly enough, supports using nuclear weaponry in the South, which has led to him being slammed as a radical and dangerous candidate.

The Collectivists are very similar to the Left, except for invading the Wiltonite CRA and for their enthusiasm over summary executions of CRA officials.

Above, you can see a sheet measuring support for three selected social issues. The issues include anti-workplace and hiring discrimination laws, Cameron's proposed New Bill of Rights, and Senator Neville's proposed Department of Civil and Human Rights.

This is an area where not only the Left and Collectivists are fully united, but they themselves are united amongst the blocs. Moderates and Radicals in both support similar social legislation. This is opposed to the Right, which is more divided along the lines of moderate and far-rightism. Carnley is the most left-leaning socially of the stock, while Wilkinson and Cornell are the furthest right.

Other studies will be released as the elections draw near, but for now, this is an informative "first dip" for all those newly introduced to democracy and an internet connection.

Appalachia, Cascadia, Commune Cities, Deseret trade de-facto independence for greater autonomy

Several client states once loyal to the United States but legally independent have now formally entered the union as Autonomous Commonwealths, a status which affords them more privileges and autonomous than regular states. The system is modeled off of Spanish Communities and their system.

The independent-to-autonomous states include Appalachia, Cascadia, the Communes of Free Cities, and Deseret.

Montgomery, Dixie - Night of November 26, 2020

Lora's grandmother died in her sleep, but it was an end to her suffering after the leg wound became horribly infected. She died happy, knowing the surviving officers that fled the barracks were executed for attempting to flee the camp. She called the guards a 'dereliction of the soul', which her granddaughter did not understand. Lora cried all night she died, but she was comforted by the prisoners and her own sisters. Her mother returned two days later, but her father was still missing. Lora was embraced by her mother the night she snuck back into the barracks, and both bonded over their losses.

Only a skeleton crew of guards were remaining, but they were conducting executions every afternoon, so the prisoners helped hide Lora's mother. Guards came by several times and beat prisoners until they surrendered her. Heroically, none ever did. On Thanksgiving, jets flew overhead and bombed the guards' barracks, at least one of them from what Lora could her and what her mother told her. The bombings became more and more frequent, and the prisoners were worried their barracks would be bombed. Several of them plotted to kill the remaining dozen guards and flee the camp, but they were overruled. They spent that evening eating stolen food, the first fresh meats, cheeses, potatoes, and carrots they all ate since they could remember.

That night, Lora's mother promised they would make it out alive, and live on a peaceful farm in Virginia, with dogs, cats, chickens, horses, and ducks, and they'd be living with the whole family. They'd leave the camp behind, and would be treated well and would pray over a bountiful dinner every night. Lora believed it, and started crying. Her mother and sisters embraced her and they went back to eating their dinners.

Polls for the First Congressional District in the State of Indiana, February 12, 2021

Michael Sheridan (inc.)(Workers' Emancipation Party) - 24%

Sarina Boston (Social Democratic Party) - 22%

Byzantino Laurens (Moderate Laborist Party) - 17%

Viktorija Corgy (Communist Party) - 13%

Hyatt Corvin (Socialists' and Ecologists' Party) - 4%

Anne Sawyer (Centrist Party) - 2%

Don't Know/Undecided - 18%

* * *

Viktorija Corgy looked at the poll numbers, and couldn't decide if she was elated or depressed. Fourth place, which is great for a revolutionary socialist politician in Indiana. But fourth place out of six polled candidates, which is a little pathetic. Even the undecideds beat her out. She frowned and exited the browser.

She walked out of her bedroom and into the living room, limping as she put weight on her leg. Even almost three years later was the limping still an issue. The bruising on her leg finally dissipated after months. She could still remember it all happening, the baton swinging, people screaming, the policeman's fearful look as he beat her. Thankfully, she didn't remember the sensation of pain.

In the living room, Viktorija called her campaign manager and planned the next few weeks' of events. She was going to lay low until about November or so. Appearing too much would cause people to be fatigued, and up the chances of her making an embarrassing gaffe. Instead, she'd do a few townhalls every two months, sprinkled by impromptu visits to coffee shops and refugee centers, then some media appearances closer to Christmas. Her campaign manager set the dates.

Viktorija exhaled and turned the TV on. Some Social Democrat was speaking on the news. She scoffed, laughing at him speaking about a strong welfare system and strong economic regulations to better safeguard the people. Capitalists in sheep's clothing.
