I would like to thank the 96% of people who approved of me, and I hope to work to secure the approval of (or grisly deaths of) the remaining 4%.

Thanks everyone.  Smiley

Frankly I don't understand how Secretary of Forum Affairs Ilikeverin has 50% disapproval when he's generally active and hasn't done anything wrong in quite a while.  Especially when compared to the ratings of some other Cabinet members who rarely show up on the forum.

Again it seems personality has creeped into an approval poll when the way people are doing their jobs would produce different poll results.

Yes, I said the same thing when similar results came out in a previous poll on approval ratings.

He's also got a fairly high strongly approve figure. Seems like a polarizing figure. Good. Atlasia needs more of those.

6.)  Mideast Senate Race (7 responses)
MasterJedi – 71.4%
Akno21 – 28.6%

I think I like those results, 5 of 7 votes for me, well 4 if you don't include my own. Smiley

Gross inactivity. All Cabinet positions deserve active people that get stuff done. When a Senator asks a question during a debate on a bill that comes under your department's speciality, I expect an answer. I certainly will not vote to confirm nominees if elected that haven't proven their activity and I won't hesitate to introduce an impeachment if I see inactivity.

You will be on the ballot (I think), but it's probably a good idea to get a VP anyway.

October 11, 2005

Interview with Presidential Candidate Dubya
Ebowed News Network interviews former Southeast Governor and Lieutenant Governor Ron G. Dubya, who is running for President as the nominee of the Atlasian Conservative Alliance.

Ebowed:  Former Governor Dubya, thank you for joining me today.

Dubya:  Thanks for having me, Ebowed.

Ebowed:  As one of the major candidates in the upcoming presidential race, what is your main vision and plan for Atlasia?

Dubya:  My vision is to put our fiscal house back in order by cutting government spending.  We are billions of dollars in debt, and yet we are still spending money on farm subsidies, as well as many other unnecessary programs.  The Senate's performance on this issue, while commendable, could be better.  I plan to get involved in the legislative process and lead the Senate in cutting back the massive federal government.

Ebowed:  So you support the Farm Subsidies Abolition Bill?  What is your opinion on other budget-related matters such as Sen. True Independent's Save the Fine Arts Bill, which repeals a recent bill that abolished the National Endowments for the Arts?

Dubya:  Yes, I do support the Farm Subsidies Abolition Bill.  I oppose the Save the Fine Arts Bill.  The government has no business funding that agency, especially in the financial state we are currently experiencing.

Ebowed:  You recently won the nomination of your party, the Atlasian Conservative Alliance, and the first preference recommendation of the Right to Life League.  What other endorsements will you be seeking in the days and weeks to come?

Dubya:  I plan to seek the endorsement of the NRA.  I have, and always will be, a strong supporter of the Right to Bear Arms.  However, my opponent Emsworth is also a supporter of this essential right, and we are both members of that organization, so it might be more difficult than the others.

Ebowed:  How will you be voting in the upcoming Southeastern gubernatorial and lieutenant gubernatorial elections?  How do you evaluate Bono as the man who succeeded you as Southeast Governor?

Dubya:  I'll be voting for Bono.  In regard to your second question, I believe he has done a fine job for the brief amount of time he's been in office.

I'll be writing-in Brandon H for Lieutenant Governor.

Ebowed:  What do you believe should be done about Social Security?

Dubya:  I favor voluntary private accounts.

Ebowed:  How do you believe activity problems in Atlasia should be combatted?

Dubya:  Well, I promise to be an active President.  As far as voters are concerned, I have been developing a plan to address this issue, but would prefer not to release it at his moment, as the bugs have not been worked out.

Ebowed:  Do you believe that the president should be able to introduce legislation?

Dubya:  Yes.  I also introduced a plan that would allow the President to overturn a Senate veto on a bill he proposed, by popular referendum.  This plan has been mischaracterized as leading us to a mob rule.  I do not believe this is the case, and will work with Senators to perfect the plan to prevent this and other problems from occurring.  I believe it's time to have a rebirth of government by the People.

Ebowed:  How would you describe your basic philosophy and attitude regarding the balance of federal and regional power?

Dubya:  I favor Regional Rights.  The regions are, by nature, closer to the will of the People.  That said, the balance should not tip too far in either direction.

Ebowed:  Why did you choose htmldon as your running mate?

Dubya:  He was the only one who wanted to run with me, besides DanielX.  I didn't want to run with someone from the same party Tongue  Seriously, I was trying to pick a more moderate conservative than myself.  Plus, he's had experience bringing the center-right and center together as Constitutional Union Party Chairman.

Ebowed:  What is one positive quality about each of your opponents (Emsworth, Joe Republic, StatesRights, Jesus, Mike Naso, Supersoulty, LiberalPA)?

Dubya:  Emsworth has been a very active leader for the Senate.  Joe is a great guy all around.  States and I are good friends; underneath that extremist conservative, Wallace-like exterior, he's got a heart of gold.  Jesus never gives up on running for President.  Mike Naso is consistent, if nothing else.  Supersoulty has been a great leader for Atlasia, in the Senate and as Secretary of the Treasury.  LiberalPA is a nice guy; even when faced with impossible campaign odds, he stays optomistic.

Ebowed:  What would be your opinion on gay marriage rights should the issue rise under your administration?

Dubya:  I prefer Gay civil unions, only because if we extend the meaning of marriage to include Gays, I fear churches who are opposed to gay marriage would be forced to administer gay marriages, and I believe that would violate the Separation of Church and State.

Ebowed:  Do you support a minimum wage?  If so, a regional one or a federal one?

Dubya:  I will support an amendment to the Constitution to allow the Federal Government to set a minimum wage.  I prefer a federal one, because if each region sets a different minimum, businesses might set up in the region with the lowest one, thus taking jobs away from the other four.  I understand that each region has different economic needs and I will evaluate them before considering a minimum wage.

Ebowed:  What is your greatest concern for Atlasia?

Dubya:  The threat of terrorism.  I will continue our fight against this evil, and promise to raise the security of the homeland, without infringing on our Civil Liberties.

Ebowed:  Thank you for your time today Former Governor, and good luck in the election this month.

Dubya:  Thanks for having me, Ebowed.

Only people who have held any sort of official position, as well as leagues/caucuses/parties

But Everett has indeed held a position.. check the endorsement tracker again. Cheesy
