As we all know, Bill Clinton has been only the third president in American history to have articles of impeachment brough up against him.

If you had been a member of Congress, how would you have voted on the Impeachment of President William Jefferson Clinton?

Heh...interesting, but I think I would have voted for impeachement. You don't lie in court, plain and simple. However, if I had been a Democratic congressman, who knows whether my moral principles would have held for the pressure... Wink

I would have voted no because I don't consider that a 'high' crime.

Well, besides the fact that the constitution says high crimes AND misdemenors, you dont consider perjury a high crime?

But I'm ridiculously partisan.  I'm all for BJ's at the office, but don't complain if your enemies use it against  you.. and don't lie about it, trumpet it proudly!

The damage to the institution to the Presidency to lose 2 of the last 6 Presidents would be very long-lasting.

...

On second thought, convict b/c then Al Gore would be President and win in 2000. Tongue

I would have hated to do it(not because I particularly liked Clinton, he was a scumbag), but I would have voted for impeachment. He broke the law. I would have voted the same way for Nixon.

Don't get me wrong, I really dislike the direction Bush is taking the country, but no.

For two reasons:
1-It was not under oath
2-He thought that Iraq DID have them (My opinion).  Personally I thought Iraq had them too but I didn't and still don't care.

He wasn't lying because the weapons are there and terrorists tried to use them in Syria about 2 weeks ago.

Sexual Intercourse and Acts are against the law on federal property. I don't know if it's a minor misdemeanor or what I just know its a violation. If you had sex with a coworker at your office or place of work then don't you feel the company would have the right to discipline you as needed? Clinton was impeached, he just was never convicted.

Wait a second...

So are George and Laura not supposed to.. you know... at the White House?

Assuming I represented MN-5 I would've issued a statement saying "hey guess what, I don't care what he did, he's a Democrat, I won't impeach him, if you want me to too bad, I won't represent you scumbags."

And I would still win reelection with over 60% of the vote. Smiley

and seriously, no.

No, they can do what they want in the Private Quarters. The private quarters are George and Lauras' home. Anyting done on the 1st Floor is considered Public/Federal Property and they are bound by the laws regarding that.
