It'd be really hard for a commie to win a House election in VA-01 as it's a R+8 district.

Still, really interesting!
That's part of why he's running a joint D-Left ticket. Also when he unseated the R whip it was a swing of around 13 points, so it's within the realm of possibility.

Also he ain't a commie ree

Wow RIP. Also, Israel better start looking for new allies because the anti-Israeli commies are coming for our main ally Tongue

At one point I was considering Barr for some office in CA, since she was the P&F nominee in 2012 and write off her support of Trump by having her say she "had an error in judgement". Glad I didn't now.

WHILE DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS HAVE PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES, TWO MAIN CANDIDATES RISE FOR LEFT FRONT PRIMARY

By JONATHAN MARTIN
Feb 22 2020

While Democrats and Republicans have their primaries, the newly formed Left Front is having to quickly create a primary schedule, and two main candidates have declared for president.

GLORIA LA RIVA

Gloria La Riva, former California Gubernatorial candidate and presidential candidate, was the first to declare. She is the candidate of the radicals within the coalition. She has been criticized for her unwavering support of Hugo Chavez, Nicolas Maduro, Cuba, and North Korea. However, she is still well known for getting around 0.05% of the vote in the 2016 election, and with the Front growing ever stronger, she is attempting to show how her experience can bring her large amounts of votes.

ANGELA NICOLE WALKER

The latest candidate to declare, Walker was the vice-presidential candidate on the SPUSA ticket in 2016. She is much more moderate than La Riva, and has criticized "so-called socialist regimes that oppress the very people they claim to have liberated from oppression." She has focused most of her campaign on domestic issues, such as mass incarceration, healthcare, and Taxes.

The first primaries of the Left Front will be held "within the month", if our sources are correct.

By the way, since the LF's primary schedule is left unclear, i'll mostly have the results in the convention post, and will focus more on the D and R primaries.

ALEXANDRIA OCASIO-CORTEZ OFFICIALLY LEAVES DEMOCRATS, JOINS LEFT FRONT, BECOMING FIRST NON-INDEPENDENT THIRD PARTY REPRESENTATIVE SINCE 1940'S

By Daniella Diaz
Feb 24 2020

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, one of the most famous members of the Democratic Socialists of America, has finally made the decision to leave the Democratic Party and join the Left Front, becoming the first non-independent third party representative since the late 1940's, when Franklin Delano Roosevelt Jr. was elected as a Liberal, before eventually switching to the Democrats. Ocasio-Cortez has yet to release a statement as to whether she will continue to vote with Democrats. It is possible that several more moderate Democrats, including Fmr. Representative Joe Crowley (D-NY) are eyeing the seat, believing that some Democrats may be dissatisfied by Ocasio-Cortez's decision. Ocasio-Cortez has been championing several positions considered to be very left-wing, such as abolishing ICE and universal healthcare, and was a member of the Progressive Caucus. Although she is leaving the Democrats, she may seek to stay part of the Progressives.

2 NEW LEFT FRONT CANDIDATES DECLARE FOR HOUSE IN TWIN CITIES AREA

By LISA MASCARO
Feb 27, 2020

As the Left Front gains traction around America, two new candidates are running under the Left Front banner for Congress in the Twin Cities area. They are:

4th District: Steven Brust

Best known for his Dragaeran/Vlad Taltos series of fantasy/science fiction novels, Brust has been an avid socialist for years, previously being a part of the SEP. He has said previously in his blogs that " I’m lazy–the hard part involves detailed study and research, rather than repetition of abstractions and slogans. I do that when I’m writing and can only rarely get myself to do that kind of work politically." However, he recently stated that "I'm getting fed up with everything, and I have realized that the only way to get change done is to get off my [expletive] and actually do something." He's running against incumbent Democrat Betty McCollum.

5th District: Ginger Jentzen

Ginger Jentzen is well known around Minneapolis for almost winning a city council seat in the 3rd ward. She is not running against an incumbent, as Ilhan Omar is not running for re-election after an alleged antisemitic statement.  She is also running under the Democratic ticket, attempting to win the primary there.

-Ilhan Omar announces retirement after antisemitic statements, several demand her resignation
-Hurricane Arthur nearly stationary over Tallahassee area
-Rashida Tlaib follows Ocasio-Cortez in joining Left Front

[DATA EXPUNGED], SC FEB 28 2020

As we pulled into the parking lot, I remembered to unpin my "Merkley 2020" button. Good thing, too. I didn't want to screw up my first time voting because I forgot to take the damn button off. Lines at this point were short, although they never were very long, especially during primaries. My parents and I signed our names in the 14th, 15th, and 16th slots in the Democratic Primary sheet, while the Republicans were at 174. We went in, voted, and left. My vote was likely nearly the same as theirs. Merkley for President, and our friend who ran for school board a few years back for the 3rd district.(as if it would flip) With only 1 democrat or none at all in most other races, and the nonpartisan positions being ones that would only be contested in the general, there were very, very few boxes to tick.

We rushed to Anderson to watch the results as we had 4 years prior. Merkley's campaign, like Bernie's before him, had rented the Democratic Party of Anderson HQ as a local HQ of their own. We had been canvassing for Merkley in the county since December, and although we knew Booker was likely to win the primary, we also felt like Merkley could score at least a handful more delegates. We could only watch and have a few snacks as the results rolled in.

back in Anderson SC, Dem Party HQ

We were ecstatic. Sure, 16% didn't seem like much, but it was an overpreformance of 6 points from the polls. We were only a little more than 3 and a half points away from taking second in what was considered to be a race we had no real chance in. Merkley even won a county, Oconee, Bernie's best county back in 2016. Harris did much worse than polls expected, only causing pundits to continue to believe she wouldn't get far past California, which was having their primaries in less than a week. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our limited success. Our friend running for Congress even narrowly won his primary. We went home to enjoy the weekend.

SUMMARY OF THE MANASSAS, VIRGINIA RALLY AND COUNTERPROTEST PT. 1

Paul Nehlen speaking at the rally, at approximately 4 PM

On March 8, 2020, 1 day after the Louisiana Primaries, neoconfederates, neo-nazis, white nationalists, and other assorted members of the far right assembled in the city of Manassas, Virginia, at Nelson Park. The rally was organized by the well known Richard Spencer, as well as other far-right figures, including Paul Nehlen and David Duke, and was announced on February 23rd. The rally was not in opposition to some local government measure, unlike the Charlottesville rally 2 and a half years prior, but was simply meant to promote far-right ideology.
The event started out with lesser-known figures speaking, such as Arthur Jones, the Republican candidate for Illinois' 3rd Congressional District, Rocky Suhayda, the Commander of the American Nazi Party, and then more well-known figures including Andrew Anglin.
At the same time, in Byrd Park, approximately half a mile away, a counterprotest organized by the Left Front, and spearheaded by Lee Carter, had met, with several figures speaking.
Manassas police seen blocking off the roads between both groups to ensure violence wouldn't occur

At approximately 1:30 PM, a small group of 12 to 15 white supremacists left the meeting. 15 minutes later, they were caught by Manassas police attempting to set fire to the Manassas Islamic Community Center, about a mile and a half from the rally. Luckily, no one was injured.
By 4 PM, the high-level speakers at the right-wing rally had begun speaking, starting with Paul Nehlen, then David Duke, and finally, the keynote speech by Richard Spencer at approximately 5:30 PM.

"We're going to interrupt you for a second there, we just got word that Richard Spencer has just announced in his speech to the Manassas rally that he is running for Senate this year as a Republican. We already have widespread condemnation from state Republicans, but it seems like it will be hard to find someone to stop him. The only person to file otherwise is Former State Delegate Bob Marshall, who lost again to Danica Roem last year..."
