Almost all platitude with right-wing coloration. Vilification of that all came before except in the distant past.  Rhetoric that could as easily have come from Benito Mussolini.

It was empty, inauthentic, and was just pure red meat for his base. The Republican truly have set the bar extremely low.

We as a nation are used to Bipartisan State of the Union addresses, since Obama had an opposition congress for 6 of his 8 years. I order to achieve his policy goals, Obama always tried to somewhat moderate the speech and include things that could at times appease both sides.

This was a speech that understood Washington is a Republican trifecta. It was pretty much republican proposals, with a few bones tossed towards the left for moments. In that way it was almost all Red Meat/Conservative Policies and achievements.

There was quite a bit in there.
I just got tired of hearing him say that everything he has done "was the most/best in the history of our nation." Laughable garbage.

I'm just lost as to why he didn't also include that he has done more golfing than any other president "in the history of our nation."

I didn't watch it, but I expect it was little different than any other SOTU other than the fluff and BS was of a different variety than we've seen before. From what little I've heard of the coverage it seems the only break from recent tradition was the lack of any new policy proposals, just a rehash of old ones, especially on immigration.

Plenty of fluff but that is normal for a SOTU speech. I thought it was pretty standard.

It looked about as bipartisan as a Brezhnev speech to some Soviet.

I don't think anything could be less authentic than Donald Trump talking about "coming together". That is literally the antithesis of what Trump is all about.
