Ah, I see the provision I was talking to you about was removed.

Also, does "human-animal hybrid" refer to any artificial organism containing human genetic material? That may be a more precise definition if that's what you meant.

I'm not a huge fan of provision 5 either, as I do believe it's possible for an advanced AI to inadvertently become sentient without being prompted by an outside operator. This feels like too strong an impediment to technological research.

Then again, I suppose technological research isn't primarily being done in the South.

Would adding "knowingly" or "intentionally" resolve your concerns about the A.I.?

Also, I will look into the animal-human hybrid thing. I borrowed the idea from the Fetal Farming Prohibition Act of 2006, and will double check that language.

"Intentionally" works, yeah.

Also, given the advances that have been made, I think it may be reasonable to assume that more specificity is required in these kinds of laws today than was in 2006.

What does "artificial, sentient intelligence" mean?

I may also add a few amendments.

I disagree with 5 because it impedes scientific process.

Every other part I am fine with, although 6) is out of place.

I should also state that I don't give a damn about scientific progress (you can quote that btw, DTC) and am VERY skeptical of large-scale automation. I would be in favor of an amendment that would regulate it, but I'm not sure how one would could about doing it.

Yall are inviting killer robot GENOCIDE!!!!!

Although my actual concern is with the ethics of deleting (i.e. killing) something with sentience which effectively makes a.i. immortal.

Many animals are likely sentient - sentience is not the threshold for whether or not something constitutes human life. I don't think that's the primary issue here... At least at this stage. Once we are able to do stuff like transfer human consciousness into AI, and once sentience has actually been achieved, this can be revised.

Fair enough. If you've ever seen black mirror, they have several episodes involving the transfer of memories and consciousness to A.I. and then explore subjects such as perception of near infinite time, torture, and the inability of self-thinking A.I. to die even when it wants too. It can get depressingly fuked up.

I could favor regulation for artificial, sentiment intelligence, but I think a full on ban would be a mistake.

Similar to what DTC said, I feel like banning the creation of sentient AI would be going way too far, but there should be some regulation on it.

I agree with DTC and weatherboy, a full ban on sentient AI could be a step too far and could get in the way of technological development in other fields. I'm also with Governor Dip on the confusion over what sentient AI actually is.

Why do we need to ban human cloning? And how would a ban on "the sale of aborted fetal tissue" affect scientific research?

A ban on sale does not exclude donations for scientific research, merely a profit driven business model that should never exist to encourage aborting fetuses.

Also human cloning poses dystopian ethical concerns.

Hmm.. I'm sure we could discuss the ethical concerns of cloning more deeply some time, but you've addressed my concerns on the whole tissue issue
