From 1010 WINS:

U.S. Sen. Jon Corzine, the Democratic candidate for governor, has increased his lead over GOP challenger Doug Forrester in a new poll, but nearly half of the respondents who chose a candidate said they may still change their mind.

Corzine was favored by 48 percent of respondents in the Star-Ledger/Eagleton-Rutgers poll published Monday, while 28 percent supported Forrester and about one in five said they were undecided. And among those who said they were likely to vote in the Nov. 8 election, Corzine leads Forrester by 18 percentage points, 49 percent to 31 percent.

The full results should be up here some time later today.

Despite respondent "volatility", I'd be surprised if Corzine didn't win

It's bad that Corzine still can't get above 50% but if this poll is accurate, it's bad news for Forrester.

It's too bad this campaign is non-existant.

I haven't seen a single TV ad. I guess they're all airing in North Jersey.

There hasn't been much in this media market and according to AndrewBerger, there isn't much up there either. He's always saying, "So I guess there is no campaign in NJ this year." It's been rather slow. I saw two ads from Corzine. The most recent was a brief bio and what he wants to do. I love it when he says he wants to crack down on corruption.

Your right in some aspects, there hasn't been much of a campaign yet. I think Corzine only has 1 or 2 TV ads released, and I think Forrester doesn't have any TV ads released. Both have troubles of there own, Corzine with the loan to the union leader, and Forrester is now being invesigated by the Dept. of Criminal Justice.

When the hell are they planning on starting then? The election is in less than 2 months.

How about Corzine and the Senate ethics committee, MAS?

Both candidates are inherently and almost equally corrupt. It's funny how the voters have yet to realize this. Who wins will be a matter of circumstance, not of necessity for the good condition of New Jersey.

Have you decided who you will be voting for?  I remember you telling me you were undecided a couple months ago.

I was thinking Corzine, now I'm thinking third party. They're both scumbags. Tongue

He has his arms wrapped around every political boss in the state, including our good old Camden County dictator George Norcross. Not the kind of politician we want running our state.

Codey should run again!

Corzine has a very good voting record in the Senate. He also has a lot of good ideas for the state.

Fezzy, you should use concrete examples instead of blanket statements if you're going to criticize.

To all of you this may be just another race but to me, it's my future and I'd like to have a shot at having one.

Why in the name of God would you want to stay in New Jersey for more than a few years?

Corzine has a very good voting record in the Senate. He also has a lot of good ideas for the state.

And he's so passionate for the "good ideas" that he proposed in his Senatorial campaign four years ago, that he's bailing on his term. Nice. Is he going to do that with Governor too? Bail out halfway through his term to run for President?

And, for blind partasins and just plain idiots who don't already know, the Democratic party in New Jersey makes Tom DeLay look like Christ. And that's no joke.

So George W. Bush 'bailed on his term' when he ran for President as sitting Governor of Texas back in 2000?  Please.

I don't know much about Corzine, and I honestly don't care if he wins, but if you're going to say he's bailing you have to do that with tens of other people every election season as well.

"We suck." -- A GOP County Chairman, lamenting Doug Forrester being 18 points behind, George W. Bush's  N.J. approvals, Alex DeCroce's Assembly campaigns, and Michael Chertoff's performance during Hurricane Katrina.  (09/13/05)

So George W. Bush 'bailed on his term' when he ran for President as sitting Governor of Texas back in 2000?  Please.

He served six years, and accomplished what he set out to do. Jon Corzine has done nothing as Senator and now wants to be Governor.

That's the worst argument I've ever heard.  It's just a partisan-fueled blanket statement.  You don't that Corzine hasn't fufilled what he wants to to do in the senate.  There's a good chance he feels he's done what he's set out to do in the senate, and now he feels it's time to move on to another avenue.
