Two of the greatest Americans who've ever lived.

I always vote without hindsight. With hindsight I would've gone with Weld in 1990, too.

Amazing no one's voted for Tsongas, though.

Lack of knowledge about the candidates, mostly. After some brief Wikipedia-ing, I'm changing to Hatch.

Who I support(ed), would likely have supported (before 2016)

2018-Governor: Gonzalez
2022-Governor: Diehl

1970-2006-Senate: highly inclined to support (almost) any Generic Anti-Kennedy opponent
2012-Senate: Warren, probably
2018-Senate: Warren
2020 Senate: Markey

With all due respect, at this point you're just trying to be a contrarian hack. In nearly all these threads I've gone in, you say you'd vote D in 2016/2018/2020 but R in 2022. I can respect that most of the time even if I really disagree with it. But a Gonzalez-Diehl vote? That just seems too tone-deaf/contrarian; an explanation of this would be much appreciated.

Gonzalez is who I supported at the time. 2016-19 support is from when I was still on the left. I did not put who I would have supported w/ my current views if I had to do it over again, and w/o hindsight, bc that would be an extremely tricky thing to say w/ any certainty IMO. Only pre-2016 support is based on who I would have supported w/ my current views w/o hindsight, and I rarely put that because even if there was a Democrat I liked, for example, I can't say w/ certainty that I would have supported them, or even so for a favorable Republican.

2018-GOV: Baker, Charles
2022-GOV: Healey, Maura

2020-SEN: Markey, Edward (in D primary: Markey, Edward)

Also this led me to research the 1990 MA GOV election...which was just quite interesting because of the Democratic candidate, John Silber. Very interesting guy, see his Wikipedia page. He was apparently anti-gay (while Weld was pro-gay), against a bunch of welfare programs, a supporter of integration from his days in TX, against capital punishment, against Howard Zinn, against having to name his weaknesses.
