I hate ISIS as much as they do, possibly even more, but this is extremely concerning. Having companies use a filter, which may be required by law, according to Amber Rudd, seems like a breach of privacy and potentially personal freedom.

Is the value of privacy over security only an American one (I say this as this seems like a trend, case in point CCTV in London), or is this just a fluke?

Lets see what an organization created by California Democrats in the 21st century has to say about free speech.

That's right, according to them if you oppose the Iraq war, you don't have a right to free speech. Everyone who doesn't support the people running this country (or the UK) into ground will be labeled an extremist.

Left-wing activists and anti-war activists are not going to be targeted for state repression, as much as they crave it.

No, these tools will be used mostly against people advocating for less immigration and possibly against Islamic fundamentalists as well.

Its the same sort of creeping authoritarianism that you expect from a government led by Teresa May: her time in the Home Office makes it clear that she is very much behind this sort of legislation.  Makes their stand pre-2010 on supporting 'civil liberties' all the more funny really considering that they have done nothing but move in the other direction.

Remember when it was Davis' big issue to grandstand on?

Yeah, it's not as if we've seen that happen.

Europe sucks. Exiting the EU doesn't make it suck any less.

Also, I wonder how the "free speech" alt-righters who supported May because "protecting our culture" feel about this.
