Early voting numbers in Sedgwick haven't been good for Republicans. Honestly everything has just been brutal for Kobach this month, I don't think I've seen a single positive article or ad about him.

Overall EV numbers statewide are considerably more friendly for Democrats than in 2014 0r 2016, which is a good sign.

I saw on your endorsement thing you support Kobach any reason why? Kelly is really moderate and Orman is moderate if you can't stomach a democrat and Orman and Kelly aren't nearly as awful as Krazy Kris Kobach

So that Orman dropping out thing was a complete hoax?

My question, too. Looks like this wasn't a real thing. Sad!

What a self-important POS.
A top official in his campaign was telling donors that he was dropping out and to hold off on donating any more. Obviously something changed, though unsure why as I haven't seen any Ormanentum on the ground.

Great word.

Ending the Tea Party reign of terror in KS will be beautiful to see.

Democratic AG candidate Sarah Swain was denounced and condemned by the Kansas Democratic Party in May for having a controversial image of Wonder Woman strangling a police officer featured in her law office.

Last week the Sedwick County Democratic Party promoted a Swain event using that picture. Hasn't gained much traction, just sharing some news on downballot races. Incumbent AG Derek Schmidt (R) is heavily favored in this race, it'll almost certainly be the biggest margin of victory.

tmthforu doesn't have any political views. He's the perfect definition of  a partisan hack. He'll always endorse the Republican. First, the Establishment guy. Then, if that guys falls he'll go with the Tea Party guy.  Very sad to see

Voted for every Democrat up and down my ballot except Sarah Swain. Didn't vote for Schmidt either, because Schmidt supported birther BS against Obama in 2012, sued the feds over the ACA, and tried to force Dems to name a candidate after Chad Taylor dropped out. Instead, I wrote in former Democratic AG Steve Six.

She isn't strangling the cop, lol. Wonder Woman's lasso is not a lethal weapon, it's used to restrain and compel people to tell the truth (which is a cool power I'd like to see more often).

Kansas Speaks (Fort Hays State) Docking Institute Poll: Kelly leads Kobach and Orman 40-36-10. Trump approval at 45-47 in the poll. 91% of poll respondents are familiar with Kobach, compared to only 62% for Kelly.

Note: this poll was conducted over a wide span of days (August 22nd - September 25th) so may not be the best measure of where the race currently stands.

Isn't Trump approval a bit low for KS?

I think so. These polls are great and very detailed - a lot of useful data for Kansas political gurus, but every year it seems to lean a bit to the left in sampling and this year doesn't look like an exception.

That's only 5% higher than it is nationally. This only confirms why I think Kobach will win in the end.

What is Orman's deal anyway? Is there any evidence he sought a high-level position in exchange for dropping out and was rebuffed, or is he just a stupid, stubborn boob and refused to drop out despite it being painfully obvious very earlier on that he had no chance?

Some people really are terrible strategizers. This wasn't a cycle for him but he could have done something in the future if he didn't salt the earth this time around instead.

He probably figured that he could box out the Democrats again this year and like in 2014 become the de-facto opposition figure to whatever crazy (Kobach) the Republicans nominated. The Democrats, not wanting to allow Republicans to win again, would then fall in line.

When it didn't work out he just stuck in the race because he's stubborn.

I think he was hoping to luck out like he did in 2014 and cut a deal with democrats to become their designated-facto candidate. As far as him staying in the race he may have been trying to play chicken and force Kelly to drop out to unify the opposition(like Alaska). At this point my guess is that Orman is hoping he takes enough votes to cost Kelly the election so that, under his thinking, democrats will give him a free lane to go at Kobach in 2022
