Who are the demographics of Americans that are listening and learning from the Parkland, Fla. student survivors of the Feb. 14 massacre and who are ignoring them:

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/politics/florida-students-hit-capitol-hill-press-congress-for-action-on-gun-violence/707687905

I'll start:

People who are listening to them: Women (especially white women), Democrats, liberals, younger people, some minorities, some Republicans, some Independents

People who are not listening to them: Men (maybe white men), conservatives, some minorities (who feel BLM did not get enough "care from lawmakers")

Good list.

Conservatives and many older Americans I would place in the "not listening" list. Many of those not listening believe the US is going to hell in a handbasket, that things like this will happen again, and that nothing can be done. Younger Americans-- many of whom attend college or university-- are not buying it or accepting it.

Minorities will come around and support changes, especially if these changes include putting metal detectors and extra security around wealthy, suburban, predominantly white schools, not just the schools their own children attend.  Others will hate such security measures, but will adjust, just as we have done with airport security.

The demographics are no different from the longtime cultural divide on gun politics.

A few things though:
-There's actually little generational difference with the way gun control is viewed.
-Most of the minorities' issues aren't really that big. I think most of them just want more voices of color in the spotlight of the movement.

So by "minorities" you mean black people? Fair enough.

Most of us would like to know why gun violence is only ever a political issue when it effects mostly white victims in mass shootings. Most of us would like to know why gun violence in the inner cities isn't addressed by Democrats, or why it's is used as a racist dog whistle by Republicans with no solutions.

Maybe. Older liberals maybe. Far-right older conservatives, maybe not.

Wealthy white millennial conservatives, maybe not.
