Milwaukee still looks like the best option.

Agreed: Republicans would mock them choosing San Francisco or New York, Miami and Houston have hurricane concerns, and no offense but Birmingham is lol. Really comes down to Atlanta or Milwaukee and obviously my personal bias brings me back to Milwaukee.

The thing is, now that basically no serious candidates take public funds for either the primaries *or* general election anymore, the incentive to hold the conventions late has gone away.  So my *guess* would be that at least the first of the two conventions will be held in July again, and by tradition the non-incumbent party goes first.  So I'm guessing the DNC will be held in mid-July or so.  Don't most of the hurricanes happen towards the tail end of the summer, like in August or September?  They've held national conventions in July in Miami before, and there was no hurricane problem, so I'm not sure it'll be a deterrent this time either.

Have Charlotte officials seriously not gotten any pushback from their citizens on hosting the RNC? I would be royally pissed if I was a resident to the city after putting up with years of anti-urban interference from the state GOP only to have the anti-urban clown in chief get his grandiose exercise of worship theater set up in town.

Las Vegas should get on board with a serious bid rather than a half-assed one. The city mimics Trump in spirit almost perfectly.

Miami would be an insane place to hold a convention in the middle of hurricane season.

Eh the odds of serious hurricane in say July in Miami are low. Depends on the timing of the convention.

Even a tropical storm could shut down incoming flights and wreak havoc on the logistics. Half-empty convention hall with cancelled speakers etc.

Atlanta would be the best choice to host the 2020 DNC, IMO.

The RNC should be looking at Pittsburgh or Detroit.

The DNC? Milwaukee’s new arena, Detroit’s New arena, Atlanta? .. Phoenix? Miami

They don't want it.  It looks like Charlotte is the only city that really wants it, and the competing bids are kind of make believe in that they don't really have the support of city government.  I would be very surprised if any city other than Charlotte gets it at this point, since they seem to be the only city that's really interested.

If it is Birmingham, do some of the delegates and guests get to stay in Huntsville, Montgomery, or Atlanta.

Mystery City #3 is out, so the RNC options are down to Charlotte and Las Vegas:

Guess I'll be on vacation that week if I don't have an internship in the first place in the summer of 2020.
