Milwaukee has a brand new state of the art arena opening up at the end of this year too.

I think the symbolism with Hillary not going to Wisconsin would make Milwaukee a good choice, also I'm biased.

I'm thinking San Francisco could be a strong contender if they bid: they're the furthest left major city in America and would be an ideal location for a resistance themed convention where they are likely to nominate a pretty far left candidate, the major convention centers as well as the downtown are also surrounded by upscale neighborhoods so that the democratic delegates won't have to be near any working class people while they're there

Bill Clinton attended the Milwaukee Bucks - Boston Celtics playoff game last night

The Bucks ownership group are the big backers of getting the DNC to Milwaukee.

Milwaukee still looks like the best option.

Agreed: Republicans would mock them choosing San Francisco or New York, Miami and Houston have hurricane concerns, and no offense but Birmingham is lol. Really comes down to Atlanta or Milwaukee and obviously my personal bias brings me back to Milwaukee.

Big DNC news:

This would put it before the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

I really think it has to be Milwaukee. Denver had it only 3 conventions ago in 2008 while Houston and Miami Beach have weather/hurricane concerns. Also the heat there would be rough. Average high temperature in Milwaukee at that time of year is 80 degrees.

lol Milwaukee is such the obvious choice, Hillary lost WI because of the turnout collapse in the city.

There are so many reasons why Milwaukee is the obvious choice. New facilities, weather, good politics, etc.

Why are so many of you saying that it "NEEDS" to be in Milwaukee?

The 2012 DNC was in North Carolina and Obama lost NC.

The 2016 DNC was in Pennsylvania and Hillary lost PA.

The convention doesn't "need" to be in Milwaukee. As long as the Democratic candidate visits Wisconsin a few times, we should be fine.

Whatever city they decide I will be fine with though.

But, and this is a big one, Milwaukee is a better city than Miami and Houston in terms of weather, beer, and cheese.

Win, Win, Win.
Weather? LOL.

Anyways, like I said, I'll fine with any of the 3 cities. I just don't think that it "needs" to be in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee does has better weather than Houston and Miami... in July. The average high is only 80 and it won't be as humid as the swamplands of either Houston or Miami. It'd be a different story if we were talking about January.

Not surprising that they're giving it to the only city that actually wanted it, and not the one that the Nevada GOP is trying to shove down their City's throats

Actually sounds like there some reluctance in the Charlotte City Council.
