Republicans don't need former conservative Democrats in the South, as was the case even decade ago. They have wide own bech now. So, i doubt, that few remaining moderate conservative Democrats in the region (there are no solid conservatives among existing Democratic legislators, AFAIK) have bright future in Republican party. 20-30 years ago - sure. 10 years ago - may be. Now - no.
