We're straying from the point of this thread...
It's impossible to bring up the Simpsons on the internet without people saying it's gone on too long.

I'm just glad you guys find this funny and not offensive.
because; the show is way past its expiration and sans the movie or a treehouse horror episode (I guess); the show hasn't been funny or good in over a decade

Yep, that's what the internet has been saying since the late 90s.  The comment is almost never relevant to the discussion, but it gets brought up every time anyway.  It's like how "did you know they call soccer "football" in the rest of the world?" used to be said every time some American accidentally used the proper word for the sport in their home country.

Better be the party of Lisa Simpson than Donald Trump. I hope Cruz goes down in November. He's the one I most want out of the senate.

Whereas the Republican Party is increasingly an unholy alliance between Homer Simpson and Montgomery Burns.

Does such a comment reflect more on Ted Cruz, or on the state of American society?

Watching "The Simpsons" would be torture for me.  Worse than "Beavis and Butthead Do America".

I'm so old, I remember Matt Groening's "Life in Hell" comics from my college days, before the Simpsons were ever created.

"Intelligent, passionate, and the moral center of the family" says Wikipedia. Sounds like a compliment to me.

Homer canonically voted Obama in 2008, Romney in 2012, and was prevented from voting because he had been removed from the voter list in 2016, so...swing voter.

As I was arguing in Discord, Bart would invariably vote for the funniest name on the ballot. If he could've voted in 2016, he'd have likely voted for Rocky de la Fuente just due to the name.

Marge would likely usually be a swing voter, but it's hard to see her not voting Clinton in 2016.

Lisa is a swing between Dem and random lefty protest vote minor party.
