Wow. Is something substantial actually going to come out of this?

I'm hoping this isn't like the week after the Access Hollywood tape...

Until I see a bill on the House floor, this is all talk.

Most may be an actual honest man in politics.   I'm not in agreement with a ban, but we do have an integrity shortage in Congress.

Yeah, this might just be another post-Access Hollywood/Charlottesville/Roy Moore style damage control stunt.

I agree .... but the difference is that you don't see "Charlottesville or Roy Moore" incidents happening over and over again, in a short amount of time.
If nothing is done this time around, then the next time it happens (and it will happen again!), people and organizations will be louder. And then louder, and louder, and louder .... until the nation blows it's top with super-massive anger, that something finally will be done!

"The process" has started, folks!
It's just a matter of time, and to what decided actions/solutions are actually implemented.
(And if the policies implemented are just bogus, right-wing, NRA actions that do nothing/little to provide safety, then more national screaming will eventually lead to even tougher legislation down the road.)

I mean, Mast might be sincere as an individual, but this could still not go anywhere in Congress.

It's very possible (in fact likely) that it would go nowhere, but he could still try to do something.  He's a member of Congress; he can introduce a bill.  If he'll do that, I'll believe he's sincere.
