If Montana had held its primaries on Super Tuesday, who would the Republican Montanans voted for?
Montana belonged to the states that held its primaries on the last day of the primary season, thus their results on the GOP side aren't that meaningful, as Trump didn't have any opponent anymore.
He received 73.7% of the vote. Ted Cruz came second with 9.4%, and John Kasich third with 6.9%.

Cruz might've won narrowly.

The Mountain West in general isn't super religious. they're more libertarian conservative types.

It's hard to say. It does have a libertarian culture and that would benefit Cruz, but it's also got some rust belt qualities to it. I think it's probably trump, but it's really 50-50.

Narrowly Cruz over Trump, like in northwest Idaho (Idaho as a whole voted for Cruz by a large margin because of his strong performance in the heavily Mormon southeast, which Montana doesn't have).

If you look at the Idaho closed primary results, one can assume that there would have been an east-west divide regarding the Trump strongholds:

I don't think that's fair to assume, since southern Idaho has a high Mormon population that doesn't exist in Montana. If anything, this is evidence that Trump would have done quite well in MT.

My assumption that Cruz would have won Eastern Montana is based on the fact that it is adjacent to the Midwest.

This. Southeast Idaho is essentially North Utah. It's not really comparable to Montana.
