Sorry A18, but I don't understand what you wrote.  hahaha

Anyway, like I said in the mirror thread, there is only one way to conduct this investigation.  No politicians.  Just professionals in the industry of disaster preperation, relief and recovery.  Once a politician is involved, the value of the investigation drops.

Never thought I'd agree with you MODU,  but you've hit it on the head.

I agree with you guys too, but the people have to be selected with equal input from each party. If the commission is made up of Bush cronies, it's the same as having the Senate Republicans conducting the investigation.

That's why Congress just picks the organizations, such as the Red Cross for example.  The Red Cross would then choose someone within their organization that knows how to respond/provide aid, and they will sit on the board.  You just go down the professional organizations, and do the same.  That way, Congress can't stack the panel with the individuals they want, just the organizations which are experienced with these situations.

Democrats wanted an independent commission. What part of that don't you understand? What do you Republicans have to hide? Why did Clinton get an independent commission, but this massive screwup by the feds doesn't warrent one?

Like I said, i could see why the bill was voted down due to the riders on the bill.  That's why my option is the best of both worlds.
