DO NOT VOTE until after midnight EST at the beginning of Friday. Any votes cast before this time will not be counted.

This is the one and only official ballot for the Mideast Gubernatorial Election, Propositions and Initiatives being voted upon in September 2005.

Voting will open at midnight EST on Friday 16 September, 2005 and will close exactly 72 hours later; Only votes in this time frame will be counted.  This vote is being conducted in accordance with the Election and Vote Regulations Statute and the Mideast Constitution.

If you edit your vote, or the post containing your vote, it will be counted as void. If you campaign in this thread it will be likely counted as void, and you may be subject to further prosecution under the Campaigning in Voting Booths Statute. It would be appreciated if you didn't comment in this thread other than to vote.

To qualify to vote in this election you must meet the activity requirements as defined by the Activity Requirements Statute, and be registered in one of the following States ten days before this election began: District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Virginia, West Virginia or Wisconsin.

Although no such federal requirement exists any more, you must still display a Mideastern avatar or have a note in your signature denoting your fantasy residence.  However, if Proposition 18 is passed, this requirement will be waived for this election.

If you wish to cast your ballot in secret, you may do so by sending your completed ballot as a personal message to Governor Joe Republic, Lt. Governor Dean, Judge Ben, Senator Al and Senator MasterJedi.  All of the listed people must receive your ballot or it will not be counted.  Please note that secret voting is entirely optional, and you may vote in this thread as normal if you wish.

This voting booth is now closed.  The results will be officially declared in this thread when a hearing has verified any secret ballots that have been cast.

As at least two election officers received no secret ballots, any that were sent will be automatically discounted.

The result of the first round of voting is as follows:

9iron: 6 votes
(WI) Ben: 3 votes
Dean: 2 votes
(WI) Joe Republic: 1 vote

Joe Republic was eliminated.  The second round was as follows:

9iron: 6 votes
Dean: 3 votes
(WI) Ben: 3 votes

Ben was eliminated.  The third round was as follows:

9iron: 7 votes
Dean: 5 votes

9iron has been elected Governor, and Dean has been elected Lt. Governor.

-----------

The result of the vote on Prop 22 and Init 11 are as follows:

Prop 22: Passed with 10 votes for; 2 abstentions.

Init 11: Passed with 10 votes for; 2 abstentions.
