Who wants to bet Trump is secretly envious of the "Great (Fire)wall of China"?

not surprising, tyranny will go to huge lengths to stop criticism.

Who wants to bet Trump is secretly envious of the "Great (Fire)wall of China"?
I'm waiting for him to say something like "we should just outlaw fake news".

The Chinese government has been anti-liberalizing for several years now, and it's clear that Xi is tripping on power, but come on. If you look at this from an objective perspective, this is clearly "Trump tweeted covfefe" level clickbait. Trump is a serious problem, but "covfefe" isn't. Likewise, this was clearly poor software design (if not a software bug) that was rectified in less than a day.

Sure, we Westerners can look at stuff like this and have a good laugh. And China has real problems. But this is yet another example of the spread of clickbait China-hysteria by Western media outlets (which have incentives to spread as much China hysteria as they can) which exaggerates and distorts those real problems into some whole nother level. And it's one reason why Chinese citizens don't take Western grandstanding seriously anymore.

yes, clearly we (CNN, New York Times, BBC, PBS, NPR, etc, etc) are the ones who should be embarrassed by PRC censorship for daring to report things that they, ya know, actually censor.  Like Winnie the Pooh.  Dictators in Asia don't like being made fun of for being fat apparently.

Also, the more I think of this, why is THIS an Atlas thread instead of, you know, Xi Jinping's government changing the Constitution?

Yes.

Also, the more I think of this, why is THIS an Atlas thread instead of, you know, Xi Jinping's government changing the Constitution?

Because it's Atlas.
