Added a few likely options but I expect most of the votes to be "other"

It won’t be Tulsi Gabbard.

That’s as likely to happen as Tec Cruz becoming majority leader

None of them. Tim Ryan especially is never going to be the House Dem Leader.

Yep. Pelosi will be speaker in 2018 if dems win the house, unless enough congressmen are elected with unbreakable pledges to not vote for her. If so, chances are we get someone like Ray Lujan.

I would love to see tulsi gabbard become the next speaker of the house, I think she would be great in any leadership role. also what she could do if she wanted to run for prez is she could make a deal with tim ryan that she gets to be the speaker and tim could be the majority leader and she could use the speakership as platform to run for president. just a thought. either tulsi gabbard or tim ryan would be great.

I want Cheri Bustos but she's probably aiming to become Durbin's successor in the senate.

lol @ Tulsi Gabbard.

Also this. Like it or not, we will have Speaker Pelosi for at least four years.

Do you have any evidence that there's going to be a far-left wave, or do you just want it to happen?

Theoretically it could be someone not actually in the House... maybe Bernie Sanders?

Hoyer and Crowley are the most likely. Schiff, Ryan, Ben Ray Lujan, and Linda Sanchez are also possibilities.

I think it could be any of the following:
Ben Ray Luján
Linda Sanchez (I think she’s a dark horse candidate here)
Ted Lieu
Steny Hoyer (I think he retires before this tbh)

But the fact is, Nancy Pelosi will probably stay on if Democrats do reasonably well this year. I think she retires after getting a majority again, or is forced out if Democrats do really poorly.

Hakeem Jeffries. Young POC. Him or Cheri Bustos, but she should run for Senate in 2020 or gov in 2022.

I'm going to give a left-field candidate and say John Yarmuth. Ranking member of the Budget Committee with reliably progressive credentials.

Joe Crowley seems the most logical choice.

There is a possibility his seat gets ripped apart after the 2020 census.
