Your terminology seems kind of weird.  Are you just using "neocon" as a synonym for "hawk" (which seems questionable to me)?  And "peacehawk"?  Why not just say "dove"?

There's a fair amount of variation within the categories you've listed.  E.g., Klobuchar is probably the most hawkish person in the field....she's essentially Hillary Clinton 2.0 on foreign policy.  Certainly a lot more hawkish than, say, Gillibrand (except on Israel, where they're about the same).

I mean, for example, Klobuchar voted to arm Syrian rebels, and even advocated for a no-fly zone there a few years ago:

(Oh, and she also said that Trump's attack on a Syrian air base in response to chemical weapons last year was "the right thing to do", whereas pretty much every other 2020 Dem. criticized him for it at some level.)

Whereas Gillibrand criticized Obama's Syria policy as being too hawkish, and said we should focus instead on humanitarian relief and the refugee crisis:

Bernie Sanders opposed NATO expansion during the 2016 Democratic primaries and yet he supported Montenegro's ascension as NATO member.

In fact, on March 2017, 98 senators on 100 supported the treaty to approve Montenegro's NATO membership. The only senators who opposed it were Rand Paul and Mike Lee so Sanders supported it. And it was the day John McCain accused Rand Paul of working for Vladimir Putin by objecting the bill to approve Montengro's NATO membership.

I'd also add that the 2020 Democratic candidates as a group don't really care about foreign policy at all.  I mean, there are a couple of exceptions, but the "top tier" candidates talk about it as little as possible.

They know that they need to get onto one of the foreign policy-related committees, like Armed Services and Foreign Relations, in order to get "national security experience" before a presidential run.  But then they spend a disproportionate share of their time there talking about domestic policy issues, like when Harris spent her time at Pompeo's confirmation hearing asking about climate change and discrimination against LGBT employees at the CIA.  Not that those are unimportant issues, but it's not the sort off thing that makes me think that foreign policy is at the top of Harris's priority list.

I think Peter Beinart's quote here is correct:
