Really, this is a definitional problem more than a political problem; looks like the American definition of liberal is slowly dying out. It'll be a good thing for clarity of discussion.

Not a socialist/communist but, yeah, modern liberalism is generally hypocritical.

There are plenty of ideologies within the socialist spectrum. Democratic socialism, which I'd suspect is what the twitter user supports, isn't comparable to Mao-style communism, and definitely won't result in mass executions.

I don't support communism, but whenever someone non-jokingly equates Bernie Sanders with Stalin I stop taking them seriously.
