Apparently, Median, which I know nothing about did an election day poll.

Fidesz-KDNP-EPP: 43%
Jobbik-NI: 22%
MSZP-P-S&D-G/EFA: 13%
LMP-G/EFA: 8%
DK-S&D: 7%
Momentum-*: 3%
MKKP-*: 1%
Együtt-*: 1%

They also released a seat projection:

Fidesz-KDNP-EPP: 124
Jobbik-NI: 33
MSZP-P-S&D-G/EFA: 20
LMP-G/EFA: 9
DK-S&D: 9
Independent: 3

Bad result for Fidesz if accurate.

This strikes me as being fairly significant - and if verified it confirms what some of us have long suspected about Fidesz and may well cause Hungary issues in the future.

Another prediction:

Bad result for Fidesz (though in the normal sense this would still be fine)

I just saw that. That's pretty damning. I wonder how many other areas saw the same (many, I assume) actions and how the opposition parties will use this.

"people still queuing for hours ..."

... in only a 70% turnout election.

LOL.

Unimaginable for Austrians or Dutch people. I have never waited more than 1 or 2 minutes for voting (before I switched to postal voting).

I read somewhere that the long lines in Budapest are for the absentee voter precincts, not regular precincts. Apparently there are only a few precincts were people can vote absentee and a huge amount of people have to vote there. I think I saw this on a reddit discussion forum, FWIW.

If this is true, they should be kicked out of the EU without a doubt. The EU has no place for dictatorships and that includes pseudo-democracies with rigged elections

You are aware that this is not possible from a legal perspective?

I read that the election reporting website was offline for most of the day and that information about voting precincts and where to vote was not available because of it.

Maybe this is what the "incidents" are referring to.

But the government said the website simply collapsed because of strong traffic at the same time.

Fair enough, though article 7 of the EU (the one that leaves Hungary without a vote) should do the job just fine, and act as sort of a suspension. Though I guess someone will probably block that (Poland?)

Alternatively fines should work as well even if they would be an underwhelming sanction.

Looks like it may be far worse, though I want more confirmation before extrapolating too much from this.

I agree that irregularities should be taken seriously, but let's first wait for the details. If it's something serious, then yes, there should be repercussions.

I think I call it quits (this will take a few more hours).

Here, everything would be 100% counted already and people could go to bed.

With 10% more turnout.

Seeing as you wrote this after the Jeb! post, I agree that Jeb!'s continual election victories is quite concerning Tongue

But seriously, yeah, this is pretty bad.

Up until today, I thought corruption and further control of the media was as bad as it was going to get (not trying to diminish the significance of those, for those are still quite precarious), but I didn't expect this.

didn't your country have to re-run an election recently because of incompetence?
