Theoretically speaking, there should not be anything that you cannot dictate if you are dependent on a stream of revenue from a given source. However, not just the example in the above post, but also in terms of the recent litigation over sanctuary cities, is illustrating the concept of the relative burden as being a deciding factor in just how much funding can be conditioned.

Also, is that an amendment Never or recommendations for Sestak to include in his amendment?

Those were suggestions, I think, but I honestly think it might be better to tie those conditions to the funding here.

Completely suggestions, not amending anything. Best way is likely to the such, though.

Is there even an alternative that is constitutional? Is there some other impetus to provoke such actions? Because if not then obviously that course should be taken.

I guess silence means no. I take it an amendment will be forthcoming to tie it to the funding?

Can we get into a bit of discussion on the constitutionality of where the Feds can step in on education funding? I am a little confused on it and would prefer to discuss it before we pass something that's possibly not constitutional.

This bill provides funding to the regions, correct? It should be perfectly constitutional to tie those funds (intended for school safety and mental health) to general school safety standards.

I would think so provided implementation periods are reasonable.

Taking some inspiration to Never's amendment. The requirements here are being tied to the funding.

I do hope this goes somewhere and soon. But just know that though I am a patient man, I am fresh out of mercy. So if this ever comes to my desk as President. Pray it is not a pile of flaming garbage.

Also you might want to find a new sponsor, because I am taking Sestak with me. Evil
