Most and Least Aesthetically Pleasing Electoral College Maps.

This is kind of a dumb idea for a thread, but could be amusing. So here it is. What presidential election maps do you think are the most pleasing/displeasing to the eye? Whether you are happy with the result or not, which maps do you think look the nicest and which look the ugliest?

I would have to say 2004 looks the nicest. I was disappointed with the result back in 2004 but it is just so clean. if Arizona didn't ruin 1964 that would be a contender for nicest looking for me as well.

As for the ugliest, 1960 and 1976 both look like jumbled messes to me even though I'm glad that Kennedy and Carter won both of them.

I actually like '76, the regions are very clearly separated (but Iowa and Illinois anger me a little) and also like '04. 1860 is nice too, as well as '64 if AZ hadn't ruined it.
I dislike the mess that is '60 and don't really like '80

The map of 2000 became a little bit strange because of New Hampshire and New Mexico.
The map of 2004 would be better if Kerry had won Iowa.

1992 was pleasing personally because of the X shape in the Eastern seaboard in states that Clinton had won.

1924 and 1928 are the most, 1960 and 2016 are the least.

I actually think GA voting D while those around went R ruins it.
Though, MIMAL voting together brings tears of joy to my eyes.

Least: 2016, 1968, and 1908

I actually think 1964 is the most visually pleasing map, although it would be slightly more so if Arizona had gone for LBJ.

1968 was least aesthetically pleasing.  Texas just sticks out there.  It would have been better if Humphrey picked up Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, and Wisconsin, all of which were within 2-3 points and would have likely made him president.

Least, excluding 3rd candidate statewide wins: 1952 or 1944.

I agree with Skill and Chance that 1904 is the best.

I disagree with Hydera about 1992: that one looks the worst.

I like the map from 1964, both in terms of the Electoral College, and in terms of counties carried.
