Only 56% in Vermont for Hilldog. That is far less than Obama got in 2012 (67%). Was Bernard the only reason for her weak performance in this state?

Write-ins were 7.04% of the vote have a lot to do with it.  I guess it is related to bitterness over Dem primary.

Yep this is exactly why. It was always going to vote for Clinton anyway so more people decided to throw away their vote for fun by writing in Sanders.

She tanked a lot in upstate NY as well. Neighboring Clinton county voted for Obama by 26 points, but she only won 2 points. Her last name didn't help her there.

It was almost entirely third parties/Bernie Sanders write-ins.

Trump had the lowest percentage of the vote for a Republican presidential nominee in Vermont history.
