The Angels really should consider using Shohei Ohtani as their DH on days he's pitching too...

I don't think you can have the pitcher also play DH simultaneously.

What you can do (and what they should do in my opinion) is to choose to forgo the DH and just set up their lineup as if they were a National League team. In the AL, you're always allowed to do this; the Giants did it with Bumgarner a few years back in a game at Oakland.

Also, in other news, Ohtani is making me slightly more accepting of the DH. But still, #NotInMyNationalLeague

^ yeah. They'd lose the DH for when he's pulled and the Angels probably don't want random relievers to be forced to hit.

Might be able to do a switch to DH when he's being pulled from the mound.

They wouldn't be forced to hit, they'd just have to be pinch-hit for like in the NL.

On the flip side, it adds an extra player to the bench, which gives the manager more flexibility in substitution situations.

True, but Scocia (spelling? Sh*t his name is hard to spell) would lose the pinch hitters for the relievers and the ability to keep a long reliever in there if the lineup spot comes up. Doing that would be terrible (for his team, it'd be great entertainment to watch) in an extra innings game.

We have our first no-hitter of the season...congratulations Sean Manaea.

Anyone have him on their fantasy teams, BTW? He's been on fire so far.

Major League Baseball set a record for weather related postponements with 26.

This April has been crazy weather wise.

Yeah. We had one here, only the 6th rainout in AT&T Park history (in 18 seasons).

An entire series in Minneapolis got delayed for snow. The league really should have scheduled more off days when the weather is typically better.

Lol at the Brewers. They try to talk a big game that the division is theirs this year, only to lose 7 of 8 to the Cubs in April, including 5 shutouts. PLEASE keep attempting to trash talk, its cute.

Move over, Shohei Ohtani. There's a new two-way player in town:

A day or so late, but whatever...

Congrats to James Paxton on his no-hitter. A couple of interesting stats on it:

* First Canadian to throw a no-no in Canada;
* First season ever there's been a no-no thrown in every North American country.

Just when I thought we were doing well, we get swept by the f**king Phillies and now we're back to .500.

Also our pitching situation sucks. We started the season with Bumgarner and Samardzija out. Now Samardzija's back, but Cueto, who had been pitching very well, is now on the 60-day DL with a sore elbow.

The Mets are walking train wreck.

Yesterday they managed to be the first team in two years to bat out of order.

If they keep this up, I'll become a Yankees fan.

Then you’re apparently not much of a Mets fan to begin with.

No, I just have no hope.

I think the closest comparison I could make is the Cleveland Browns, who have gone through about twenty starting Quarterbacks since re-entering the NFL in 1999... and have only had two winning seasons... going 1-31 the past two years.

That's how little faith I have in the Mets.

Besides, If I did switch loyalties to the Yankees, I'd probably curse them with horrible luck.

Jeez. What the heck happened to Matt Harvey. He was supposed to be such a great pitcher a few years ago. I think he had TJS but then came back mostly 100%... Bummer, such promise

Well, at least in Cincinnati he won't have the nightlife to distract him...but that was only a third of his problems.

Oh so close. Cardinals RHP Michael Wacha just missed a no-hitter by a full inning.

Somehow the Mariners are tied for the lead in the AL West. Did they put something in the water in Seattle?

I was at the 13 inning game in Seattle the other night. Great atmosphere for a new ballpark. They seem to have a great group of guys that can take them to the playoffs. Also chowder at a baseball game >>>>>>
