maybe because there were only 290 votes cast in the primary which is only one third of the democratic vote in the general
Most of obama's primary county loses were due to low turnout the only people who turned out were people protesting obama and people trying to show there support so there was barely any

It's also an extremely right-wing and racist hellhole.

LaSalle is historically one of Louisiana's most GOP parishes and has a lot of Democratic primary protest voters. Bill Clinton in the 1996 primary got like 63% there.

I thought the parish would have very few white conservative Democrats because whites in the parish voted Republican every election in the 6th party system (1980-present).

Well, Romney got 87% of the vote there and it's still majortiy-registered Democrats, so I would assume so.

Well they're lifelong democrats who hate the democratic party. So they vote against whoever's winning, for instance 2012-Obama and 2016-Bernie

They're true DINOs. most of these people are probably well to the right of Zell Miller but still identify as Democrats for whatever reason.

But they obviously love socialists, since Bernie won that county in 2016.

LOL no. They probably didn't even know who Bernie was. They just knew he wasn't Hillary Clinton.
