LaSalle is historically one of Louisiana's most GOP parishes and has a lot of Democratic primary protest voters. Bill Clinton in the 1996 primary got like 63% there.

I thought the parish would have very few white conservative Democrats because whites in the parish voted Republican every election in the 6th party system (1980-present).

Well, Romney got 87% of the vote there and it's still majortiy-registered Democrats, so I would assume so.

Well they're lifelong democrats who hate the democratic party. So they vote against whoever's winning, for instance 2012-Obama and 2016-Bernie

They're true DINOs. most of these people are probably well to the right of Zell Miller but still identify as Democrats for whatever reason.
