The ad that was aired that Sinclair felt compelled to sandwich between two rebuttals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2qZO-dXOhQ

If people like Steyer really want to put their millions to good use, waging an all-out war on Sinclair would be a good place to start. Democrats/the left can't just let conservatives go unchallenged with these things.

If Steyer and/or all of these other liberal billionaires want to do something that's actually worth a damn, they could start by buying out these s[inks]tty media companies.

Steyer and other billionaire liberals pumping money into ads pointing out how gross Sinclair is will just further victimize conservatives complaining about liberal media bias while further undermining broad American trust in journalism/reporting/"the media" but then again trust in "the media" is already in the toilet so maybe they should just go for it.

Steyers money would be better spent trying trying to lobby the Democrats in Congress to repeal the 1996 Telecommunications Act and have an entirely new law written up that includes the fairness doctrine and hefty penalties for news stations and newspapers that intentionaly lie or distort the news. Media companies should be regulated stiringently like in every other normal industrialized company and licences should be revoked for Sinclair and Fox News like garbage.

Companies like Fox News should not be allowed to call themselves News if their just entertainment. At the very least, they should be forced to run a disclaimer that it's all bullshít

Don't count on it. There's no such thing as a good billionaire.

This whole thing is so overblown. The quote could just have easily been said by a progressive talking about Fox News.

They allowed both ads to air - fair and balanced.

Sin-clair is one of the best arguments in favour of government regulation on media monopolies. When one company starts buying smaller ones accross the country and enforcing its ideology upon them- it's time to break this company up.

Exactly. I can see where there might be some bias in Sinclair, but it's nowhere near the level that it's been purported out to be. They just made one wrong move by having every station recite the same message.

Have you seen John Oliver's piece on it? If not, personal feelings aside, I'd highly recommend giving it a watch.

I don't think I've ever agreed with a post of yours more than this one.

Funny you should ask, I was just watching his piece on journalism earlier this evening. I might watch that one tomorrow. Wink
