The thread titles have been amusing

"De Leon sucks in Imperial County"
"De Leon sucks in his own Senate district"
"De Leon sucks with Hispanics"
"De Leon's fellow legislative leader isn't supporting him"

Atlas centrists patting themselves on the back because an entrenched incumbent who was alway going to win is winning is a pretty pathetic sight, isn't it?

Man, I hoped de Leon would take on fossil Feinstein and be a good alternative, but his campaign for some reason seems like a lost cause. Come on California, you can do better than Feinstein, who should retire. We need younger blood. I'd even prefer Loretta Sanchez here.

I voted for him in the primary just to keep a Republican out of the top two and I might vote for him in the general just because it's sad that he's doing so poorly. He likely knows he can't win and is only running to stay somewhat relevant. I heard him speak and he didn't even mention Feinstein's name once or even attack her indirectly.

Will his eventual loss hurt him in the future? Being humiliated this year may stick

Regardless, this is his last year in the California legislature due to term limits. Personally, he should have stuck with the original Lieutenant Governor campaign

Ask this year's biggest loser so far, Rick Saccone.

I can only think of half a joke here: De Leon needs to pounce (ponce) but instead he's... instead he's showing no signs of eternal life?  instead he's....

Well, expecting an establishment Democrat who supported Hillary to act like a Berniecrat with a purpose is asking for a lot, but he's still much better than Feinstein.

Feinstein announced she won't seek the California Democratic Party's endorsement on July 14. De Leon could win the endorsement. If he does, how well might he do?

They basically endorsed DeLeon in the first round (he didn't get the technically required 60%, yes, but he still beat Feinstein 54%-36% or whatever) and he still almost got locked out of the runoff, so this won't matter.

Receiving the official endorsement wouldn't matter?

The CA party endorsement gives him some more tools to use, but Feinstien seems unstoppable. I say this helps him clear 40%, but not win.

Would Feinstein still win Orange County (assuming Republicans won't protest vote for de Leon)?

I mean, I dont even have an idea on which counties would vote which way. I think that Feinstein would win it currently, but even then, thats just a guess.

De Leon is likely to receive the endorsement. House Democratic candidates Andrew Janz, Katie Porter, TJ Cox, Mike Levin, and Katie Hill signed Feinstein's argument against endorsing a candidate for Senate.

Maybe he'll do as well as Sanders in Alameda now.

Maybe he'll win a couple counties, but I doubt he gets more than 40%.

Shameful. I am probably going to re-register as an Independent because of  the California Democratic Party’s treatment of Dianne Feinstein...luckily she will win by a healthy margin no matter what.

Hopefully this finally gives De Leon some legitimacy, it's time for Feinstein to go.

It would be nice if we could get a young progressive for a state like California, but I guess there's nothing #resistance libs love more than rich white ladies.

De Leon’s still going to lose every county aside from MAYBE Imperial. He could’ve been the de facto Republican candidate like Linda Sanchez, but now they’ll probably stick with Feinstein.
