Patrick Morrisey - 24%
Don Blankenship - 22%
Evan Jenkins - 17%

If Blankenship wins, this would be hilarious.

lmao, imagine if Jenkins came in third after giving up his seat in Congress. This is the second recent poll to put Blankenship in a strong second.

The problem for Jenkins is that all the voters that know and love him are still registered Dems who will probably be casting dem primary ballots for Manchin. This means the R primary is dominated by the north and panhandle, and likes to select candidates not built for the state at large.

Blankenship as the nominee probably moves WV-SEN to lean D.

Blankenship as the nominee probably moves WV-SEN to lean safe D.

Please, please let Blankenship win the primary. Manchin would steamroll him.

This is what people don't seem to understand about the West Virginia Republican Party. Since WV is overwhelmingly D registered, the Republican nominees end up being very weak because their main base are the WV business class.

This. The WV GOP is an inept organization that has been swept into power by forces completely out of its own control.

I proudly announce my endorsement of ex-convict Don Blenkenship for the Republican nomination in the West Virginia Senate Race, so Joe Manchin can beat him by double-digits in the general election.

Hear hear! Also interesting how all these fools keep doing primary polls but never release their GE numbers... Manchin is probably leading Jenkins and Morrisey by high single digits rn too.

Since WV-3 is still so wildly Democratic in voter registration, and West Virginia has closed primaries, is that going to be the dagger that seals a 2nd or 3rd place finish for Jenkins?

Very possible.

Yeah, I don't think people look at things this way often enough in closed primary states ... it literally doesn't matter at ALL what these people think of national Democrats or Republicans; it's incredibly unlikely for a statistically significant number of them to switch their registration by election day (or really ever).

Many Republicans talk about killing the poor but Blankenship has actually killed the poor. He's the most Republican Republican this election year

Unless Jenkins is the nominee, this race remains Lean D.

If Blankenship wins the primary, it becomes Safe D.
