3% voted third party. What third party got the most votes in 1988 in LaSalle?

David Duke got 149 votes (2.34%)

Does David Duke live in La Salle Parish or something? Every post I've seen about it (and there have been quite a few recently) have implied that the place is extremely racist.
Just looking at voting patterns, it would seem to be full of racists. Look at how Jindal did there in the 2003 Gubernatorial election for example. He lost it by 21% despite being a standard conservative Republican... I wonder why.
