This Resolution does not explicitly state the clause that is being removed. I think we should at the very least change that

This needs to be amended to reflect the soon to be passed Constitutional Explanation Resolution in the Senate, which will make the House rules portion thereof become effective.

I am not sure why it references "section 8" in the underlying text, when none such exists and the equivalent article with much the same contents is in Section 7.

Most importantly, this proposal is a horrible idea.

Representatives have 24 hours to object to Representative Leinad assuming sponsorship.

Sorry to interrupt, but....

"Will the Sgt. at Arms please clear the gallery?"

Contrary to what Adam says, sponsorship does not equal support.

Leinad was asked to sponsor these for procedural reasons, namely someone can answer friendly or hostile to amendments. Tongue

With no objections, Representative Leinad is now the sponsor. I invite the Representative to make a brief statement in favor of the piece.

Do you want to propose an amendment towards these ends? The debate suddenly died down on this thread, but there is still much to do.

Nah, otherwise his post would have been several hundred words long and nobody would have read it. Tongue

As it happens, while I do not feel so passionately about this particular amendment as other recently-proposed reforms, I do recommend the House reject this amendment, at the very least because allowing the executive to make chaotic and controversial decisions is good for gameplay.

I agree. The Mad Bomber Strategy makes for very effective gameplay on a world stage.

I actually read your whole campaign speech. I don't agree with everything you said, but I gave it a good read.

I have to admit, I am pretty undecided and ignorant on this issue. But I did find an interesting tid-bit, that I think I agree with, from the obviously Communist-leaning "The Federalist." Roll Eyes

I genuinely don't see how this is any different than what we did with Halliburton's KBR. I am, as I think we all are, very against war. But allowing individuals who want to fight in the name of Atlasia do so seems justified to me.
