Four years after Washington's death America continues to move on

List of Presidents of the Republic

John Hancock (Independent): March 1789 - Present

List of First Secretaries

James Madison (Republican Coalition): May 1789 - November 1792
Samuel Adams (Whig Coalition): November 1792 - Present

Half way through the first Parliament in American history the first change of a head of government has taken place. Stricken by the yellow fever the young First Secretary James Madison has been forced to resign, leaving the elder and increasingly powerful Samuel Adams as the head of the current Coalition government. With a term due for a new election in at best two more years, it falls onto Mr. Adams to keep his government together and continue facing the many challenges of the early American democracy. As Adams rises, so do other political parties as the different political factions begin to evolve, and the political map across the nation begins to change. How will America move forward under the second of the First Secretaries?

Evening!

If you can forgive me for the intervention and as some of you know, for the past six to seven weeks I've been hosting a new revival of Mock Parliament titled "The Great Experiment", based on simulating a Parliamentary United States starting in 1789.

I've had a lot of fun managing it so far - the player base has been beyond excellent -, and now that the game is preparing to start its "Phase Two" (1793) in a few days, I wanted to take the time to extend an invitation for any potential players who might find it appealing, as we could certainly use a larger player base given the rising level of detail we've managed to achieve and the potential of the time period to continue creating interesting storylines.

It is - for very obvious reasons - not intended to be incompatible with Atlasia or competitive with it, but we've both managed to implement some elements unsuccessfully proposed here like GM-run elections with a significant degree of success and kept it free from personal drama, so if people ever feel like trying a Parliamentary simulation on this time period do feel free to join or ask any questions.

(PS: I'm well aware my activity levels in Atlasia have dropped significantly as well, so focused as I am on making this simulation prosper I don't intend to run for reelection or take an active role here for a while)
