I’m proudly in favor of this legislation!

Glad to hear it! Smiley

So my reasoning behind this is to ensure that students are properly educated in Atlasian history. Students should be responsible for understanding how the country is today and how its government works, especially those who have arrived here from other countries. This is not designed to be disadvantageous towards any group or state, shown by a representative education committee.

I hope you all support this piece of legislation!

As this is beyond the time available, the voting is now officially closed. 2 in favor, 1 opposed, and 2 did not vote. This bill passes.

I have seen this, but I've not yet made a decision on whether to sign or veto it.

Taking a look at the bill here....

I find that the general intent of this legislation, which is to properly educate Southern students in Atlasian history, is a very worthy endeavor indeed.  That being said, I have a concern over the issue of a regional committee controlling this curriculum.

I believe that local control of education, based at the state and municipal levels, serves our students better than regional and national control.  There are some things that the region should do in this regard, but IMHO, setting local curriculum is not one of them.

Accordingly, I must reluctantly

VETO

this legislation.

It is disappointing to know that we missed an opportunity to better educate Southern students, but I respect your decision.
