Embattled Incumbent Sen. Bob Menendez was elected to a full term in 2006 and reelected in the Obama coattails of 2012. He's facing a tough reelection in 2018, a year that looks like a good Democratic year.

If Menendez wins reelection in November 2018, which he is likely to do, will he run again in 2024?

2021 we will have a new Pres and there are many Jersey politicians that will disembark Menendez. He won't be in Senate after this term.

He'll step aside so Governor Murphy can run for and win the seat.

He's definitely gonna get pushed aside--virtually no one in power likes him too much. The only reason he wasn't pushed out of the race this year because virtually everyone in NJ politics assumed he would be convicted of at least one charge.

By '24 some Dem is absolutely running and will gain all the county lines except Hudson, making it impossible for Bobby to run and win.

I don't know if Murphy will for the Senate, but I think he definitely wants to get out of Trenton before the end of his second term. My bet is that he's gonna try to get a Cabinet position if a Democrat wins in 2020 (Treasury or Commerce) but who knows.
