The only question is how Oliver Cromwell feels about it.

Good. The Irish-Catholic nationalism of old was a pox on Ireland.

The only question is how Oliver Cromwell feels about it.

It really is incredible how a couple decades of wealth and liberalism achieved what centuries of brutal persecution could not. Really goes to highlight a certain topic concerning camels and the eyes of needles.

Ireland's been dead for a couple decades now. Good thing we worship a God not an ethnic identity.

As the name "eighth amendment" suggests, De Valera didn't write it, some men in the 1980s did that.

Tempted to think that's it for 'Social Catholicism' as a force in Irish life. They may still run (if frequently only nominally) most of the schools and many hospitals, but as an ideology, what else is left? That's meaningful?
