Okay much better on the speeches. Both myself and dfw have speeches planned but we will probably do them once the vote is over. Since we had to push back a week and a confluence of events kept me from post this Friday Morning, I am shortening this vote to 48 hours.

Just for clarification Federalists are automatically endorsed, in multi-candidate races non-Federalists can still be endorsed even if there are Federalists running. This can be bypassed in the event that a Federalist is unendorsed, in which case it would be treated as if no federalist was running.

Before I vote, I would like to hear from the Vice Presidential candidate as to why he refused to vote to reelect Federalist candidate Mr. R, who has been a fantastic senator and representative of Southern region.

Hi tmth! For one thing, Razze was the only person to PM me and you yourself have stated in the past that PM's are an important part of your vote and this is something I consider important as well. For another thing, I am not actually a member of the Federalist Party and despite criticisms otherwise, I have considered myself to be left of center for several months now, something that has not changed at all! Thank you for your question and I appreciate your vote now and in a couple of weeks if you are going to give it for a sensible ticket!

Well, the election I was referring to regarding PMs was one where I didn't know either candidate and neither really had a track record. Mr. R has been a fantastic legislator and is a great member of the party - it is a shame that the Vice Presidential candidate on our ticket doesn't see that.

At the end of the day, tmth might be right, I'm not that good of a person and I'm not a good federalist hack (namely because I am a left leaning Independent), it is true that occasionally my left leaning votes could tie break against the federalists, though this is moot considering all bills must go to Yankee in such a scenario and if it's a tied vote in the first place the veto likely won't be overridden.....but I suppose it's symbolic for some. At the end of the day, I want to be on this ticket to make sure Yankee has a smooth Presidency, a smooth Presidency I somewhat robbed from him in February 2017, I'm not trying to advance myself as I've already served in every position I could almost at this point, there's nothing left to advance. After the Vice Presidency, I am most likely going to leave the game anyways, tired of toxicity in my life and this game can be very toxic sometimes, the fed discord at times including tonight evidence of such. I hope you trust me to help make Yankee's Presidency better for him, which is better for the party, regardless of any Senate votes that have been cast.

So apparently the calendar says the election is not this coming weekend like I originally thought (its the following weekend), so I will be extending the time for voting back to the originally planned 72 hours.

Well dfw you did kind of begin the streak of "uniform tickets" so ironically, you became a victim of your own success. A year and a half of one party tickets has shifted expectations in that regard. Tongue

Esteemed Delegates of the Convention -

Every campaign I have been a part of lately, I have started out with a set number of events, speeches, town halls etc. that I had wanted to hold before it is over. When I declared so early, I had figured that for once I would have a chance to burn myself out and be satisfied with having made something like twenty speeches. Well I think I can safely say I managed one of those, and a bit too early As I have long said it is not my desire to merely do this just so that I might enjoy it, not that posting walls of texts even brings me any joy anymore, but it is my goal to ensure that what we do in this game involves people, that it brings people to the table. Everyone has different passions, different interests and different styles, and thus not everyone is going to be interested in the same things or doing things the same way. However, we have dozens of people in this game, and well over one hundred registered members. I see in them tremendous opportunity as well as wasted potential. Perhaps it is a fleeting, hopeless cause but I am not of a mind to abandon or lose hope. I would not have started this campaign two months ago if that were the case.

I ran for President because I do believe strongly in both a more welcoming and a more engaged Atlasia. To succeed we must respect each other and to get people willing to take risks, we must value everyone's contributions to the game and give them reason to want to participate more. If I thought I could pass a bill to dictate this, or some constitutional amendment to force this to occur artificially, I would have done it years ago. Only the people can make this game succeed and it is only through the people that we can drive and encourage activity. The House has pushed through more bills than any previous House in Atlasia, yet debate still lags, the Senate has blown the roof off even more than the House in this regard. On the other hand there are those that think that only drama drives the game, and yes it has its place but I don't think it is what many came here for and I can state firmly that a number have left never to return because of it.

You may call it naive or wishful thinking but I think our answer has to lie not with government, not with resorting to the heavy handedness of old, but with inspiring and motivating the people in a positive and constructive manner to achieve policy objectives. I, like many of you, want a budget that isn't going to eat our children alive. Like many of you, I want to see a resolution to conflict abroad without further escalation, while protecting those most impacted. Just like most of you in this crowd, I want a society that respects and values human life and dignity while still preserving a free choice, regionalism and personal responsibility. I like many of you, want a strong education system with the regions taking the lead and the federal government in an engaged and supportive role via the Department of Internal Affairs. To achieve all of this and more was why I set out on this journey too months ago and it is why I now accept your nomination for President.

If we come together, as Federalists, as conservatives, as libertarians, as moderates, as populists and independents, if we come together as Atlasians and determine that we can have a responsible budget, that we can have a balanced and restrained foreign policy, that we can preserve market choice and regionalism while addressing societal ills and most of all that we can have a strong and vibrant game that welcomes and values each and every player, then I encourage each and every player of this game both in the Federalist Party and outside the Federalists, to come together and consider giving me your vote this weekend.

Thanks and Dave Bless!

And since the number of declared Federalists dropped to four with Leinad's withdrawal, Rfayette becomes auto-endorsed.
