Divine intervention, God, religion, monarchy, socialism, communism, evolution, resource depletion/scarcity, and the very idea of overpopulation were all made up by losers to dissuade anyone from putting in more effort than them.

Divine intervention, God, religion, monarchy, socialism, communism, evolution, resource depletion/scarcity, and the very idea of overpopulation were all made up by losers to dissuade anyone from putting in more effort than them.

If this was ever true, religion was certainly captured by right wing capitalists (For one example, the Puritans) to convince the masses that the rich deserved to be rich and the poor deserved to be poor.

There is also a seemingly largely American religious belief that it's a sin to NOT extract resources and pollute the earth as God put resources on earth to be used by humans. This also leads to the idea that Anthropogenic Global Warming can't be real. The Oklahomans Scott Pruitt and James Inhofe both are believers in this idiocy.

Both of these concepts stem from the so-called 'Prosperity Gospel.'

From this perspective, I can understand why so many Protestants support Trump.  The 'Prosperity Gospel' has essentially been interpreted as God likes winners and doesn't care how they win.

I know it's hard for some people to see, but most people genuinely believe in something as more than just a statement of identity, expression, ego, and pleasure.
