Background

In 2008, a young senator named Barack Obama Defeated John Mcain with 365 electoral votes, nearly 100 more then the amount needed to win (270). He brought great promise and great hope to the United States as it battled an economic crisis just years after it was in the best economy Ever.

On Inauguration Day, Obama had one of the highest approval ratings ever (68%) and there was great hope and promise he would deliver. A great sense of comfort came to most Americans and his inauguration crowds broke records as many Americans were eager for the new administration and many of them had wanted the hope and change and were sure it would be delivered.

Obama, However didn’t deliver. Many Americans were very Quickly Disappointed as Obama’s administration Resulted in Bailouts, tons of spending, A Failed stimulus package and rising unemployment. Hope and patience had turned into doubt and confusion And while jobs were being lost the only things that were on the rise were debt and deficit. The ressesion officially ended from June 2009, however that was not the end of the economic Problems. By the end of 2009 unemployment was above 10%. On March 10, 2010, Obama Had signed the affordable care act A.K.A Obamacare, which was a positive however a lot of this program was flawed. By the 2010 Midterms, the Democrats had lost a total of 63 seats in the house and 5 in the senate. There were no gains in the house and senate as Obama’s approvals were by now in the mid 40’s. 2011 was no better for Obama as his administration had faced a failed Neptune spear operation and was unable to end don’t ask don’t tell. Osama Bin Laden was not killed and By November 2011 Obama’s approval Rating had fallen to just 36%.

Obama went in to reelection an unpopular president and it was clear any republican could beat him but the one who stood out most was former Massachusetts govonor Mitt Romney who had made a few gaffes himself especially with the 47% comment however, this did not stop him from leading over Obama who was failing to bring the same enthusiasm that he sold his supporters in 2008. Obama had performed poorly in the debates and often attacked Mitt Romney instead of offering solutions. By November 2, 2012 just 4 days before Election Day it was Quite clear Romney would win.

Obama’s Approval Rating;

54% Disapprove

41% Approve

Romney Wins, defeats Obama with 353 electoral votes

“Thank you thank you I have just received a call from president obama to congratulate us on our victory and I called President obama to congratulate him on a hard fought campaign and thanked him for his service over these last four years because alike you and me he is an American who loves this contury and wants the best for all of us.

The first 12 years of this new mellenium have been a period of uncertainty and challange. A period of crisis and war but know this America that will not be repeated. The work ahed will be hard as we a mired in a Sargent economy, two wars which have little sign of ending. 23 million Americans can not find work and Bin Laden is still out there causing trouble. We need to put America first and start believing in this great nation that is the only way we are going to succeed and I hope that after 2, 4 maybe even 8 years you will be proud of the decision you made right now and in this election to put America first and always first I would like to thank everyone who made this victory possible and promise that for the next 4 or hopefully 8 years i will stay committed to the American people and to our promise.

Thank you and god bless you and god bless the United States.”
