I mean this stance arguably makes her more pro-Israel than Ellison

Yeah, upon further review, she really doesn’t seem that bad; I retract my earlier comments about his. She seems much better than Rashida Tlaib, who I’m still wary about.

Both Horus and Solid’s comments in this thread are absolutely reprehensible, though.

Probably because Omar dislikes how BDS advocates for nonviolent solutions. She wants violent "solutions".
[Citation extremely needed]

My interpretation of this tweet is that she advocates for a military invasion of Israel through Gaza.

This is the guy who thinks Schatz and Hirono are conservadems and that Ojeda is a DINO.

Given that they're both noted anti-Semites, hardly surprising.

It does feel like many in the US look for any reason to go to town on anyone even vaguely critical of Israel, though.

This tweet is really just being used for everything now. I half expect this tweet to be used to justify why she wants to murder puppies.

Out of the wellsprings of the heart, the mouth speaks.

There may be "anti-Zionists" who are genuinely sympathetic to the Jewish People and their particular plight in the world, but I can never seem to find them.

When actual proof is not enough, start using vague characterizations!

Do you believe that Omar accepts the right of Israel to even exist?

I don't know and I don't speak for her, but what I can tell you is I accept the right of Israel to exist.

Woah woah woah. He's still a 28 yo alderman with his entire career ahead of him. His activist base adores him, and it seems like he ran a super-efficient office (he processed something like 24k constituent service requests in his first term?).

Unless this is about the 4th CD race, in which case he was never going to win that in the first place. He made a strong organizational showing (getting like 5k signatures in a week) and cut a deal to make sure he wasn't considered a spoiler for Garcia.

He's fine, don't worry about him. Smiley

I’m talking about Biss kicking him off the ticket.

Oh yeah then everything still applies. It's hard because he's cool but it's key to remember that he's *super * young.

he has to hold onto his aldermanic seat this year but if he does that he's still Very Much going places. Chuy's only going to be around for so long you know...

EDIT: I'm taking my assumption that statewide office in large, industrial states is basically foreclosed to socialist (by which I mean like... actually socialist as opposed to Restore The New Deal) politicians for the foreseeable future.
