With less than a month to go, who do you think will win the 2022 Hungarian election? Since reclaiming power in 2010, this election is definitely the biggest threat to Viktor Orban's reign as prime minister since several opposition parties from left-wing to conservative run on a joint party list. Ever since that was announced, polls were mostly neck-in-neck.

I was initially optimistic Orban could be dethroned, however, I think in recent months the tide has shifted slightly in his favor. Fidesz is now ahead in most polls, even though the margins remain relatively narrow, depending on poll. Furthermore, Fidesz is far better organized and has more ressources than the opposition.

I just hope the opposition alliance doesn't break apart after the election, especially if Orban wins reelection.

I guess a very narrow Fidesz victory.

I agree that Fidesz is most likely going to win. Could be really close though.

My guess is Fidesz, especially given the crisis in Ukraine seems to be bolstering incumbents.

I think it’ll be really close, closer than polls predict, but unfortunately Orban wins narrowly. Could still change - it depends whether the opposition can tar Orban as Pro-Putin successfully or not.

I wonder if any damage will be done to Orban from being publicly and explicitly denounced by Zelensky for being a pro-Putin stooge. I suspect public opinion. In Hungary is about 95% pro-Ukraine
