Impressive update thus far, quite a lot of fascinating developments! We're not meant to post on the gameplay thread until the new turn begins, right?

Isn't the rule that players can continue playing as their country if their monarch died? I could be wrong, but I certainly don't recall old players having to immediately switch.

I didn't do it either, not only this is utterly insane, it would be idiotic for me  considering I'm among the first to be blamed or evem turned into a convenient scapegoat.

I endorse this exquisite form of torture, but now I understand how players feel when I make those announcements as GM. (Can't wait!)

X has every right to continue playing the game, so I would hope those who have concerns would be open about it.

Who is X? Is there Fourm lore I do not know?

Have you not heard of the legend of the player who once burnt down King's Landing along with most of Houses Tyrell and Lannister? Have you not heard of the menace who led the White Walkers into invading the North and committing genocide in Westeros? Or the man whose actions planted the seeds for the Revolution in Poland-Lithuania? And the man who dared to burn Rome, Avignon and Jerusalem?

It's "Pope Michael Bolton", or jdb (the Sardinian player) who went by Mr. X for a while to the point in which several of us refer to him by that.

After some struggle over whether to do it or not, I am going to have to drop out with my sincerest apologies.

Partly because of a lot of RL pressure in the past couple of weeks (plus running a game of my own), but also because I've gotten the impression that I may be taking the game more personal than I should - much like Concert -, leading me to spend perhaps too many hours on it. It really is as fun, brilliant and complex as it gets, and I take my hat off to Spamage for being easily the best GM of the board.

I don't rule out returning on a more measured basis at a later date, and I'm rather sorry if this causes some inconvenience - for what is essentially a bit of a self-centered decision -, but I actually think taking a step back might be a good thing for my current predicament.

Truly  a high quality experience, these games will go down as some of the best on the board!

 

I would be fine PMing all my goals to you, Spamage. You have done a truly masterful job of moderating these two games, rivalling the great Lumine himself.

That's rather kind of you, although I do consider Spanage to be the superior GM.
