Tim Walz, and he beats T-Paw in the GE by 5-8 points.

That wasn’t the question but I wouldn’t be so sure. T-Paw won in 2006 after all.

Pawlenty was much more popular back then,  though.

T-Paw wasn't very popular by the end of his governorship though, and now he has the "DC Lobbyist" tag that can be applied to him. It's the exact same thing that brought Evan Bayh down in IN-Sen.

I'd still give Walz the edge, Murphy is too niche and Swanson's bizarre behavior in running is a bit of a turnoff. I'm still voting for him FYI.

I think the odds of winning go in this order:
1) Walz
2) Swanson
3) Murphy

Murphy would be the only one of these three who could genuinely lose the general in my view, as well.

Murphy has the activist base.

How much weight does Mark Dayton's endorsement carry when it comes to these things?

While he's pretty popular he's never been one known for clout. Probably depends if he actually campaigns for Murphy.

Which is way more important in the convention than primary. Margaret Anderson Kelliher clearly did in 2010 too. If Murphy wins it'll be because she made inroads to less involved voters.

Lean Walz, but to me it's either Walz or Murphy, with Swanson decidedly in third.

Does Minnesota have primary runoffs or does a candidate just need a plurality to win?

Runoffs are uncommon outside the south.

I think the only non-Southern state with runoffs is South Dakota, and the threshold is just 35%.

I think it'll be Murphy. DFL endorsed (which I know doesn't always mean a win, but it's worth something) and I think she can appeal to progressives and make inroads with others in the party. This year also has seen a lot of women winning primaries

I'd probably vote Swanson if I could (won't be moving up until after the primaries Sad) but I think Walz narrowly wins. Whoever the nominee ends up being definitely ends up beating T-Paw though.
