Given that this bill has set on the floor for 5 months without a single amendment and is clearly not ready for a vote, can someone just FINALLY pull it? Sestak pulled my welfare reform bill from the floor which had actually been debated for sitting for far less time than this bill.

So this expands the level of protection but at the same it also expands the impact economically/financially as well.

Substantially so ... its like no one supporting this has any idea how businesses work. You're telling businesses that not only can they not fire workers who are not doing their job, but that they also have to literally pay those non-workers as though they are working full time. So you've just doubled the cost of labor as now you have to pay a new employee to do the exact same work, but also pay undeserved welfare to a random 2nd person who as this stupid bill is written could actually be someone who already has cancer and knows this who lies to get a job and then on day 1 qualifies for full pay without ever having done any work for the employer. Its lunacy.

Has anyone addressed YE's comment? What exactly constitutes a 'family emergency?'

No one has answered anyone's concerns on this bill for 6 months and yet it still lives on like some half-formed zombie.

I don't even know anymore. It seems like some people want to keep this bill alive, but no one ever does anything with it and I don't know what the f**k to do with it either.

Wink

Its the shiny object curse. This bill has cancer in the title. That means anyone who opposes it supports cancer or something.

Pericles proposal to divert the estate tax increase to this will yield $23,388,000,000 in potential funding, but in its present form I need more specifics to forecast the costs.

TNF would be leading a torch and pitchfork parade down to the Senate right now over this. Of course TNF would have had 24 bills sitting in the queue, more than half of which had already been considered and rejected naturally.

I am beginning to feel in a torch and pitchfork kind of mood myself now.

Just wait til this bill has its first birthday.
