Resolution Recognizing the Armenian Genocide

Be it enacted:

1.) The Southern Region recognizes that the Ottoman Empire ruthlessly killed 1.5 million ethnic Armenians from 1914 to 1923 in an atrocity commonly labeled the "Armenian Genocide."

2.) The Southern Region condemns the official stance of the Republic of Turkey that the above event is not considered a genocide.

The purpose of this resolution is to not only bring us in line with Lincoln, Fremont, and the federal government but officially recognize such a horrific event and stand firmly against the position of the Turkish government and its denial of evidence. I hope all Delegates will support this resolution.
