A Republican lawmaker is being criticized for saying "there aren't enough white kids to go around" when discussing integration in schools at an event in northern Arizona.

Rep. David Stringer, a Republican from Prescott, spoke Monday at the Yavapai County Republican Men's Forum. His speech was livestreamed on Facebook and saved to his campaign page. It was later removed. But a clip widely circulated on social media by a Democrat showed Stringer talking about how immigration is changing the demographic makeup of the country.

"Sixty percent of public school children in the state of Arizona today are minorities. That complicates racial integration because there aren't enough white kids to go around," Stringer said in part of the video.

The clip also shows Stringer saying "immigration is politically destabilizing" and "immigration today represents an existential threat to the United States."

"If we don't do something about immigration very, very soon, the demographics of our country will be irrevocably changed and we will be a very different country and we will not be the country you were born into," he said.

Stringer told the Arizona Capital Times that he apologized to anyone he offended, and that he planned to re-post the entire 17 minute video of his comments. He said he wants people to hear the whole speech.

"I maybe touched a third rail of politics but what I said is accurate," Stringer told the newspaper. "Anybody that talks about this in this way is shut down and called a racist. I'm speaking the truth. Diversity may be a great thing, there might be a lot of advantages, I'm not arguing against diversity at all, but no country can be demographically transformed without any political or social consequences."

The clip started circulating after David Schapira, a Democrat running for superintendent of schools, downloaded the video and posted a portion of it on his Facebook and Twitter pages. It received more than 25,000 views within 21 hours. Schapira later re-posted the full video.

"It's time to remove xenophobic radicals from elected office this November," Schapira tweeted.

This is a rather ridiculous statement. African Americans and Hispanics are just as American as Whites and they also respect the American constitution just as much as White Americans. If there is any group that needs to be monitored it's the (White and predominantly Trump-voting) deplorables in Kentucky/WV who live on benefits and marry off their underage children to some creep (or similarly reactionary Deep Southern welfare kings). I'm only talking about the actual reactionary deplorables who support child marriage. Most Kentuckians or West Virginians are very fine and hard-working people who got hit by something out of their control.

In Europe an increasingly diverse population could be a problem however. Western Europe has a lot of Muslims who don't really respect the constitutions (there also are a lot of Muslims who do respect European constitutions and who obviously are great citizens), the Muslim population is growing at a much faster rate than the White European population and Muslims generally are becoming more radical. At this stage Muslims are much more conservative on LGBT rights and women's rights than the most religious Whites (and not to mention the antisemitism). Still, the right-wing populists who suddenly care about women's rights and LGBT rights generally don't have a good record on these issues. I bet most European right-wing populists secretly yearn for the days when women stayed home, didn't have a career and obeyed the husband without asking questions.

The comment about how the nature of American culture will change when Whites are no longer a majority is true but I can see why it would cause controversy. We're either not supposed to notice it or if we do notice it, mention it only in a positive context. It's a very strong taboo, there's no real logic behind it, but most people agree that pointing it out is bad so it's bad.

What's weird though is that most of the heat he's been getting seem to be not about that comment but about his "aren't enough white kids" comment, which, I guess it falls under the same illogical taboo, but really it's a point that has to be made if you're talking about "school segregation".

The continued demands being made upon White people for constantly increasing integration are becoming logistically impossible. There really aren't that many White children anymore (for better or worse or neutral) so schools are going to end up being mostly minority. What exactly do people want done about this? There's only two options: spreading the White population out evenly by forcing them to live certain places (this would solve the problem but is obviously politically impossible) or just do nothing but make White people feel constantly guilty about the situation (this is what will happen and it's not really fair for a different reason).

Generally, American Muslims are professionals, many of them well-educated. That is (usually) not the case in Europe.
